F-you usps

Only too complicated for you simple man… Even David I think understood it and then he was confused why you introduced mice into the picture…

Ummm, why is it even David as if things normally go over my head? I get all the quips and jokes! Except why that chicken crossed the road.

So I packaged up two eBay sales Friday afternoon and scheduled online for a package pick up at my front door. On Saturday I left the two packages by the front door like always and went to Disney with the family for the day. While there, I got the confirmation pick up email in the late morning. Came home at night and the two packages were still there. New mail was delivered in the mailbox. I swear…. the post office never fails to amaze. The Saturday person I think is different from my week day person because all my pick up problems seem to happen on Saturday. Like the time my package was picked up, scanned, and then delivered to my doorstep 5 hours later. The buyer and I were neither amused. Neither were the post office teller people when I showed up to the post office the following Monday with the package and told them what happened.

Had that happen recently with a book I bought. The post office delivered it to the seller the same day it was scanned. Ended up getting the book a few days ago.

Circling back around to the lack of scanning at point of pick up, how far along does the package usually get before it gets scanned at a different facility or location, like the city where the package will be delivered and then appear in the tracking system? Does it only finally show up once it is delivered and scanned at the buyer’s mailbox? I ask because I’ve got this problem right now. I put four packages out by my door Monday morning and requested a pick up from USPS the night before. I was home Monday and the mail carrier rang the bell. I’ve never seen him before; not my usual person. He said he had a request to pick up packages. I told him yes, it’s the stack of boxes right there outside my door. That should have been the red flag right there for me to ask to have him scan each package, but I watched him scan the piece of paper that was the package pick up request so I thought maybe I was OK. He left. I got the email my packages were picked up. But as of right now, there is no sign in eBay the packages have been picked up or are moving. Now I get to be stressed until they show up in the system.

From an AI search and lookup:

USPS scans typically show as “picked up” or “accepted” within 24–48 hours, though this can take longer over weekends. While counter scans are real-time, mailbox drop-offs may not update until the package reaches a processing hub. Sometimes, tracking does not update until it arrives at the local post office

I got a package that was last scanned Feb 25th, a month ago and no updates since. I assume the package was delivered because the buyer hasn’t contacted me yet…

I’ve had that happen as well, for packages delivered to myself…

I mailed around 20 or so cards off to a dealer to be sent in for grading back in Feb. Well the package was lost at a facility and has yet to be found. Luckily I had insurance or so I thought. I filed my first claim with and submitted my invoice for value and that was denied. I submitted an appeal with ebay sold listing for all of the values of the items and it still got denied. After a phone call they said the only thing that I could really use is a statement of value from a “reputable dealer” stating the value of the items.

Has anybody ever done this before? I want to make sure to do it correctly, but I have the feeling even if I do get it I will still be denied
