F-you usps

Prices went up January 3 I believe. Will say this, with the incompetence in USPS I have been seeing I may no longer ship to New York and may switch to UPS shipping.

Never refund in the face of feedback extortion. You can refuse and eBay will back you up and if they leave a negative feedback remove it.

Scanning is an absolute when dropping off
otherwise they can claim they never received the item if lost.

Scanning when delivered you would think is also a requirement because not doing so puts USPS at risk people claiming it was never delivered and demanding reimbursement
even though they did receive it.

Nothing about that statement makes any sense.

With receipt
if I drop off at counter, I always ask for a receipt.

My go-to excuse for waiting to get it scanned is that ‘it’s for work’ and/or ‘They’ll rip me a new one if I don’t get a receipt.’ We’re all just trying to keep the boss man happy you know? I have actually had work packages get lost and that paper trail is the only thing that will save you.

Ha. Went in today. Two clerks. Two customers. One clerk old tall guy flirting with the young lady. Other customer is a complete idiot.

Non-tall guy clerk “you dropping off? Leave them on the counter”

Me “no, I will wait”

Non-tall guy clerk “uh”

Tall guy clerk “you have the prettiest smile” (to the young lady. Young lady visibly uncomfortable

10 minutes later. Tall guy clerk calls me over and says “ you could just leave them on the counter”

Me “no I need the receipt”

Tall guy clerk “I need to get paper to get you a receipt”.

Me “I will wait.”

Waits five minutes as tall guy goes in the back and is holding a conversation with whomever is back there.

Comes back. No paper. Says “just go ahead and leave them on the counter”.

Me “I waited this long I am getting a receipt”

Non-tall guy finishes up with the idiot and holds out his hand and says “here” in an annoyed voice.

Scans packages. Gives me a receipt

I say thank you. Crumple it up. Throw it in the trash and walk out.

Mercari updates they are scanned about an hour later.

I use the receipt to open the door so I don’t have to touch any surfaces 1000 other sick people have touched throughout th day.

Then I crumple it up and toss it on the floor, passenger side.

Y’all need to find new USPS offices. Mine never give me issues to get receipt and mine also has automatic doors on one side. If I use the other side, I just use my feet to push the doors open.

My postal drop off location just got an automated package receiver. Its the greatest thing, you scan the package yourself, it prints you a receipt (you can even get it emailed to you) and you put the package in the slot. Out in under 30 seconds.

yep! automated package receivers are da bomb! It’s all diy and I’m happy for it

I like the machines that scan and give a receipt. They are rad. I also am also pleased my USPS locations near me have mostly nice and cool folks working. My mail carrier is awesome, too. FedEx tho, that’s always a fiacso.

Thermal receipt paper is bad for you.

Ours has one too. I have to post a picture. It’s a big rolling drum door. You put your comics in it and they fall into a bin. It can fit an old school CRT tv. Someone puts dumbbells in it and smash what’s underneath.

And yet they hand it right to you
so I’m already touching it. Not sure I’m understanding what point you’re making.

If you pack comics in bomb proof, not a problem. Right @agentpoyo ?

Thermal printer paper frequently contains endocrine-disrupting chemicals, primarily

Bisphenol A (BPA) or its substitute Bisphenol S (BPS), which can be absorbed through the skin. Handling these receipts can lead to increased exposure linked to potential health issues like reproductive, metabolic, and hormonal disorders, and some studies suggest cancer risks.

I think those Marvel Oreo cookies I posted yesterday had the same ingredients

I ordered food once from a restaurant and it’s the type of place you don’t have a waiter or waitress but they’ll bring your food out to your table with the number they gave you to put up. My plate shows up and the receipt (thermal paper) is actually on side of plate but in my food
I pointed this out to the guy at the register who also happened to be the manager, he’s like, the paper is harmless and I’m like, no it’s not and explained to him. He still pushed back saying it happens all the time and I shouldn’t worry.

Went back to my table and kind of scooped the food off to the side that was touched by the receipt and the manager walked by as I was telling the girlfriend it’s time to leave a review, so I’m sure he overheard me. A few moments later he stops by, apologizes how he reacted, comped our meal and I got a free cookie too. I guess he went and googled it but despite the inks and paper itself, I didn’t order food with paper stuck on it either, it’s just gross. He could have just avoided the whole confrontation by just replacing my dish with a new one.

My mail has not been delivered in three days. They say the cannot get to the mailbox.

Mostly because the guy who lives next to me keeps parking his SUV in front of the mailboxes and my driveway. Also put his trash cans out there at the end of my driveway and hasn’t pulled them back in. County website said they were not picking up on Monday and would try on Wednesday if our road was passable. It is not. But his trash is still out there blocking my mailbox and my driveway. I have slid into the trash cans a couple of times. Cracked the one.

Not sure if this rant is about usps or my neighbor any more, but my signed midtown comics keep getting pushed back because the mailman can’t deliver because of my neighbor.
