Previews gives us a glimpse of what’s to come. Here’s the spotlight new books coming out of February Previews for the Independent books and titles…
O.B.E. Out of Body Experience #1 (of 4) is a new Antarctic Press title that caught my attention. It’s rare for me to pick up most AP books as most aren’t that appealing to me on the reading nor spec standpoint. They have their heyday every so often but it’s rare.
Nottingham #2. I don’t normally set expectations for upcoming books so I’m not possibly disappointed but this one I’m hoping is as good as the solicits make it.
Phantom of the Scan #1 is a new Cullen Bunn book. One would think this guy would lose quality with the amount of stories he pushes out but surprisingly he rarely disappoints.
Radio Apocalypse #1. The last radio broadcast in the apocalypse. Could be interesting, definitely a different take from the normal end of world story lines. I’m down in checking out.
Radio Apocalypse #1 Cover B
Radio Apocalypse #1 (Cover C - Daniel)
Project Patron #1 (Cover A - Talaksi). Okay, it has a really goofy looking cover. What’s up with that neck and head position on the body? Despite the not so great cover art, the story within seems like it might be an entertaining read so I’ll likely give a skim or chance.
Snatched #1. Human hair trafficking? I have to check this out on that solicitation alone…
Strange Attractors #1 brings back one of the classic indie books.
Strange Attractors #1 (Cover B - Retro Variant)
Strange Attractors #1 (Cover C - Terri S Wood)
Unikorn #1 seems like your standard fuzzy warm feeling fantasy tale for children.
You Promised Me Darkness #1 - Your typical people gain powers type of story but revolves around Halley’s Comet. Okay, count me in. I’m only picking one cover myself though…
You Promised Me Darkness #1 (Cover B - Yuko)
You Promised Me Darkness #1 (Cover C - Cordelia)
You Promised Me Darkness #1 (Cover D - Prism)
You Promised Me Darkness #1 (Cover E - Anti Everything)
20 Fists #1 sounds like a mashup of Fight Club meets Romeo and Juliet. Hmm…
Blowtorch #1 (of 5). Seems like Second Sight is ramping up their titles in this previews, this is one title of a few more. This one looks like cheese factor fun for me.
Deep Red gets a facsimile edition. If you were around in the late 80’s and into the indie comics of the day, you might recall this one which is typically not so easy to find. So if you can’t a nice original copy (which aren’t terribly priced), what’s the next best thing to owning? A facsimile of course.
Duplicant #1 (of 3) is the next Second Sight book I got on my check out list. Pandemic, organ failure, scientist creates tech to duplicate failing organs… could be interesting right?
Freakshow Knight #1 (of 5) is another zombie living dead story but the solicitation and cover gives the me the feeling there’s gonna be a lot of gore and violence within. Sign me up, I could use some gore right now.
Galactic Rodents of Mayhem #1 is a new scout book I’ve been looking forward to. The name alone sort of won me over. Let’s just hope the story and art live up to the catchy name.
Locust #1 is another plague end of world type of story but with a twist, people transform into giant locusts. Hmmm…
Lost Angeles #1 has city officials corruption, gangs, punk rock, violence and everything else you can tie into the 80s for a city. Sign me up, I’m curious to see all the background street tagging and graffiti that’s being promised in this issue that sort of represented the time period.
Many Deaths of Laila Starr #1 (of 5) (Cover A - Andrade) seems interesting, the world is on the edge of learning the secret to immortality. Claims those who like Wicked + The Divine and The Dreaming should enjoy this title.
Many Deaths of Laila Starr #1 (of 5) (Cover B - Death Foil Variant)
Murder Hobo Chaotic Neutral #1. I enjoyed the first round. So I’ll definitely be picking up this round.
