Yes…the remake was just awful.
The original was just really creepy. Carpenter’s famous use of synthesizer music was also sooo well done.
What I enjoyed is that the story was quite good. Good ole fashioned ghost story. Movie doesn’t get the love it should. Seeing Adrienne Barbeau is always nice as well!!!
Part of why I hope the comic is good. Be interesting to learn more.

The Mist has the most brutal ending of any movie ever. Still hits me just thinking about it.
