Sold my More Brains variant and have my Thundercats up.
After this, Iā€™m done with the spec on Spears.
Perhaps Iā€™m wrong, but as Iā€™ve said before itā€™s better to get out early than too late.
Everyone is in the Spears game now

I will; however, continue to purchase 1 copy of Monsters to read with the cover of my choice

I disagree that ā€œeveryone is in the Spears game now.ā€ There are still tons of people that have no clue about him. When die hard marvel collectors catch on, heā€™ll catch another period of heat. I do agree though that itā€™s time to back off new books of his. Printing has caught up to current market for his work.

If the story is good, I would think another round of FOMO would kick in if It gets optioned.

But Iā€™m not banking on it. Grabbing a copy for the read and thatā€™s it going forward.

I really like the art on Monsters, and the story, for me being a horror fan, you just do not get both good art and story on many monster books.

FYI, all the Marvel picks are 1/13 FOC. So you have another week on those. Thereā€™s also a Daredevil #1 Fax, which might be a first for that book. Also has a foil variant. I noticed last night it had a 1/6 FOC on TFAW, and today itā€™a 1/13.

A lot of my Indy picks aligned with yours.

I had Kill Train on my short list:

To control the population explosion that nearly crippled the city, New York has instituted Kill Train, a randomized, extermination program where designated subway trains are picked at random, and all the passengers are slaughtered by the end of the line. In this not-so-distant future, we meet Vanessa, a struggling single mom in the midst of a nervous breakdown, who discovers that she, herself, is on a Kill Train. Now, for once in her life and with everything to prove, Vanessa decides sheā€™s not going down without a fight.

Ice Cream Man is back, and every page is a self contained horror story by some great story tellers.

The challenge: make a comics horror story thatā€™s only one page long. Issue 43 will feature one-page horror yarns (all drawn by Morazzo and Oā€™Halloran) from Grant Morrison, Patton Oswalt, Geoff Johns, Kelly Sue Deconnick, Jeff Lemire, Matt Fraction, Zoe Thorogood, and and more!

One of the Thundercats Spears variants is an ultraviolet cover. Cover X I believe. That could be interestingā€¦

I think his Monsters stuff will continue to do well. Anthony has pointed out the appeal to horror fans. Add that with the great art and it has potential for long tern success.

This is why I just canā€™t with Dynamite books. They beat everything to death and then some. There are 9 versions of the Spears cover alone. Itā€™s a great depiction of Mumm-Ra, though.

i do like the Thundercats/Silverhawks Spears coversā€¦ but itā€™s Dynamite, nothing is sacred.

Might be a hot take but I donā€™t feel his art style translates well outside of Monsters and ROTLDā€¦ that Thundercats Apex might be the exception, other than that I could take or leave the rest.

I like Spears work, itā€™s just Alex Ross but not Alex Ross doing the artā€¦ Always liked Alex Ross as well but I donā€™t go rushing out to buy.

Sounds like they work extensively in metallurgical fields!

Its hammer time

Noooooo I am getting sick of 80,000,000 versions of Ghost Rider. How about we do something with Blaze or Ketch already Marvel.

When you keep introducing new versions of a character, it dilutes the character.

I always fall back to this sceneā€¦
