I hate that S***!!! Marvel has been doing this for months and it sucks!. Looking on Penguin/Previews/Diamond today it’s the same ole no cover art for tons of books from Marvel.

Artgerm’s style looks good at first glance on a mobile/pc sreen and when you already have it on hand, you’ll ask yourself why you bought it. Lol.

@Jim73 I agree with you. I just don’t really understand why this is done or why Marvel (or any publisher seems to think this is acceptable).
My shop was very upset. How can they expect shops to just order blindly? They can’t afford to just order excess copies of books on a whim sight unseen. It’s bad business. What other retail businesses are forced to order products without knowing what they are getting?
We hear the adage about these companies solely being about selling books without any role in speculation, but this nonsense speaks otherwise.
I don’t care for the Iron Man series. No, I don’t have it on my pull. I have zero reason to have it on my pull. My shop said they have just a handful of folks that get this book on their pulls. I do however enjoy the Riri character and I like good art. So both shops and customers are essentially left out, and retail dollars are lost time and time again because of something that doesn’t seem all that hard to avoid.

I pretty much only personally collect Star Wars, so the impact isn’t as bad as it could be. But still.
So, after that Darth Vader 20 Sprouse horse shit, I was like “whelp, guess I’m pre-ordering 5 copies of every Sprouse variant here on out. Can’t wait to have 5 Bea Arthur from Holiday Special variants in my collection forever.”

I think it’s just shortsightedness and stupidity. It makes you wonder who is asleep at the switch in marketing at Marvel.
How can you not recognize the importance of a first Mando/Grogu cover, and let retailers and buyers know about it?
How can you introduce a possibly important new character in BP3, and not advise the market? Stores, readers and speculators would’ve ordered accordingly.

@drunkwooky I was thinking… there’s at least a handful or covers yet to be revealed. What’s the odds on bad batch? Omega? Cobb Vanth? Who’s missing that could warrant some heat.
