Deleted this comment I’m going to make a separate thread on the topic soon

Although, the first book is a web made to look like words and the second comic is just a web. The style isn’t close to what Fontanili created. The story Fontanili posted about Marvel makes it seem like he got robbed.

You missed my point, @mushu . And I disagree with you that the visual concept/style is not the same.

The point being that the idea of using webs and spiders in a Spider-Man ‘piece’ is not new. Not in the least.

You say one is webbed lettering, the other is just webbed webs…but, Fontanili’s stuff was just webbed buildings, and not the actual Spider-Man. Fontanili’s used negative space to create his SpiderMan. Gleason did a mug shot in webs. So, if lettering is different than buildings, buildings must be different than humans, right? I digress on this topic. :beers:

I agree, the idea of using webs and spiders in Spider-man is nothing new. I’m just going to agree to disagree with the rest of your statement in reference to the style of the artists. :beers:

No it’s a full trade dress not just Web or Symbiote in web wording I’ve tried finding it again no luck. Where’s the Spider-Man specialists.

The Comic Mint sounds like an establishment I will never ever patronize. Thanks for the heads up.

I’ve basically removed them from my list of shops I buy from because of this behavior.

Gleason was selling the virgin cover for $30 and TCM sold them for $55. There’s a big difference between speculating and scalping.

We should boycott stores that put out more than one exclusive a week maybe it will catch on.
