Anyone who calls them self “Major Payne” I’m gonna go ahead and avoid from the get go…
I don’t understand why he’d be upset if people order multiples. He encouraged people to buy multiple sets by offering $15 sets if one set was purchased at regular price. This was on their website.
I ordered a few and haven’t heard anything about cancellations.
to be fair guys i know who got cut or cancelled may have ordered 20-40 sets. still you aint fighting resellers if you triple the price yourself. and cut orders after book gets hot
Lol
Yep. I’m sitting this one out, too. But, it surely looks like there are dollars to be had!
All I know is that clearly, when the first #1 comic becomes available in the future, I will be going very big (huge print run be damned) because I’ve realized the massive following this has & just like with FCBD, there will be a ton of people out there with zero clue.
Again, thx to you all
I spend a ton of time in bed reading these days so I bought the first novel too , to give it a whirl.
yea regular book fans dont understand foc
He has a different shop exclusive. He’s referencing the Vault Absolute Homage being hot early on as justification for canceling those orders because now he wanted them to mark up.
I called the shop that put out the denham variant (collectedvault.com) and asked when they’d be shipping out the books. They said they didn’t know, that the owner is still deciding what to do ![]()
whats to decide?
Yeah… Person A buys product from Business B, Business B should ship out if in stock in a reasonable amount of time, like you know… 2-3 business days max one would imagine.
its a small shop so i could understand if they are not staffed for doing hundreds of orders in a day or 2. my question is why did he say “decide”
I understand packing and shipping can be a huge timesuck, but if you’re going to deal in volumes, this is what follows. Can’t guarantee a ship date, fine, but if they have any sense they’ve hopefully started in earnest.
He is trying to decide if its worth the backlash to cancel all the orders and resell at a much higher price
I could see something like that happening.
Damages…they were damaged!!
If they canceled all the orders and re-sold it a higher cost the outrage would be palpable. People would probably still buy them but it would ruin their name for the future.
I’d like my two copies without a fiasco…please.
Just buy at the inflated price, tell Paypal or Ebay that the books were damaged, force a return, send back a bag of dirt and say they are lying when a dispute is filed… Now, I wouldn’t do any of the above and a I doubt any on here would…just sayin is all.
I could see them cutting back on larger orders where it’s pretty clear what the buyer is going to do with them…and offer again with a similar limit of 1 or 2. But if they’re thinking they want to cash in themselves that’s going to look bad.
It would be better to make a positive name for yourself and bring in new customers than burn bridges and lose them.
But I think we’re seeing a new normal of how to sell exclusives…announce a drop…hold back copies to stoke fomo….then release chunks in waves gradually increasing the price.
How much longer until the usual suspects start cashing in like Bird City?
