i think it’s her take on him and his body being silver. It’s a reflection of space.
I was just looking through some books and saw this. I didn’t realize it was a full page spread. I thought it was just pretty darn cool.
That is going to be one though 9.8
Dodson and Alex Ross dont get the same respect as other popular artists - though they do have some sought after covers.
Received my copy of the Bettie Page Manara variant from Comic Hero U. Very happy and great cover. Not a big fan of store exclusives, but do make exceptions.
Too high for me !
Sweet baby Jesus
JSC selling Adam Hughes that’s like Burger King selling Big Macs.
I sold mine for more than that but it does seem that JSC is playing the speculator game.
This is what burns me on store exclusives. I do understand that artists, etc. need to make their money just like everyone else. It just comes across as manufactured or hyped rarity, and dilutes their work IMO. But there are some exclusives I make exceptions for. I guess its par for the hobby ! No harm, no foul, I just adjust my collecting/spec habits - I dont need to have everything. Do get carried away with FOMO sometimes though
I’m sure it’ll probably be worth more in the short term; just dont feel its worth my effort for the margin - this is a side hobby for me. My feeling is that the print run here will be high, because it was on everyones radar, and I may luck out on a cheaper copy if I am patient. Not trying to be sour about it, but I wasnt really sold on the art.
Question for those who may know (this question may have been asked before):
Not referring to any of the covers above BUT
When an artist does a cover for a regular cover, regular variant, a ratio variant, or a store variant, heck for any book, does the comic book publisher or editor (?) have a say on what the cover is about. ? I mean for every good cover art, there are many more bad ones - concept, style, colors, etc. For the ratio variants and the store variants, you would think there would be greater scrutiny of the cover art. Since many covers are released post-FOC, the editor must be aware of the art, and could at least offer an opinion, I would think. I am begining to think that aside from promoting FOMO, getting past bad (subjective) cover art, is another reason the cover art is not shared pre-FOC.
And for many that are released Post-FOC, I scratch my head - more so for the ratio and store variants, and even more for books whose sales have dipped. You’d think the cover art would help promote the latter.
You could have had the original for $2,950
