Grim

I actually prefer that model because it lets the creators wrap up each individual story neatly. There’s less risk for an indie comic of it just not showing up one day and leaving nothing resolved.

I imagine for people looking at TV/film ideas from comics that also makes it a lot easier for them to have built in “seasons” where they can say “okay, show season 1/movie 1 is this story. 2 is this. etc.”

This is why the best TV shows that leave a good impression are only 4-6 seasons long total. After that, it becomes redundant and people start to lose interest. Same goes for stories I think, particularly ones where the creator does not have a full beginning, middle and then ending planned out. The mini-series that get extended into ongoing usually end up sucking because that was never the original intent.

Mignola and the Hellboy universe have proven that model works for years. The quality stays high and fans keep coming back for more.

i got like 3-4 of those sdcc covers

i’ll hold back a few of my 1’s. netflix has been really hitting it lately with there anime stuff. that kpop demon hunters show is massive

Will have to pick some up before the rush!

I sold my copies for so cheap when the spec seemed dead. Oh well, on to the next hot thing!

I still love this cover for #1. Have a couple of these.

Remember in 2022 when the 2nd and 3rd prints for issue 1 were so red hot? I mean, everything was then. Funny to look at the books I sold in 2022. 5 copies of Doomsday Clock #12?

I don’t expect to make my money back but at least I get shortbox space back.

That’s the one ai have. I believe it was an FOC variant.
