I got some 2nd and 3rd prints at FOC for 35% off cover so I’m pretty happy with that. If it takes off great, if it doesn’t no real harm. Personally I enjoyed the first book and hope it continues.

Grim just became an ongoing series guys. We might be on the cusp of something big.

Good sign that issue 3 has more orders then issue 2. The series has grown organically. My shops in my area were all out of issue 2 all covers. Issue 1 were also drying up. Seems like they were caught with their pants down on issue 2.

Organic spec is the best, imo.

It’s something to keep an eye on. I’m not saying this could be the next SIKTC but all the signs are there that we have a major hit on our hands when a series is growing organically. It’s universally praised and has great art and writing.

I know we like to make fun of Boom as they like to create fomo but if this series gets optioned news, it’s all over baby.

Amazing what can happen when a company actually tries to make a well written book.

I wouldn’t call it organic, it’s still mostly speculators buying up stock because of good reviews

I would tend to agree with you but I don’t think speculators were stocking up on issue 2.

Every area is different but I know the shops in my area ordered a ton of issue 2 and were still sold out. The shop owner told me lots of people came in and told him how much they enjoyed GRIM.

Smh. Not organic. Book literally came out last month…

Untrue, something can be organic even if newly released. Imo the fact issue #3 had higher orders than #2 does back this up a bit, with people getting drawn into the story now.

they were waiting for 2nd printing or later

Higher orders for issue 3 than 2 with no option news, speculation gimmicks, new characters, variant covers, store exclusives… Sounds like organic to me. :+1:

A lot of whispers about allocations, under ordering… That creates demand.

Speculators buying and Bleeding Stool pumping does not equal organic.

Tpb are where organic readers come into play…

Not sure why speculators would be buying issue #3 more than #2

That’s the BOOM! way… SIKTC was also a mini-series.

Turned into ongoing after just 2 issues. BOOM!
