Happy Life Day!

On this day in 1978, the first and only television broadcast of the Star Wars Holiday Special aired! It featured a celebration of the Wookiee holiday, Life Day and the first appearance of the Wookiee homeworld, Kashyyyk!

…then after it aired Lucas tried his hardest to pretend it never existed.

And the rest of the world after Lucas introduced us to Jar Jar that Lucas has never existed himself…

I gotta say, Cavan Scott, Mann, and the other Lucasfilm creatives are doing a great job reviving the idea and turning it into something serviceable in the canon.

I have it on a bootleg DVD. Watched it so many times.

Same here.

Someone just wiped out midtown of the incentive. Placed a couple in my cart and my son asked me to read him a short book…5 minutes later sold out.

Oh boy. Hoping @faele comes through for me. I’m sure he will. He always does.

1st app of a wookie jedi, easy spec buy

Of course, if you want to go deeper in to Wookiee Jedi publishing history, you can grab Lowbacca’s first comic cameo appearance in Invasion 2:

First full appearance in 4:

Wielding a lightsaber in 5:

I bet Burryaga’s going to be a much more satisfying presence in comics, though!
