My youngest threw up a ton all of last night. Great way to start the year. Thankfully, he is better today so we’re pretty sure it is something he ate as opposed to anything contagious.

Someone told me today that the window for telling someone happy new year has officially closed. Even if you’re seeing them for the first time in 2026.

I say happy new year can be extended until February first…if it took you until February 1st to say hi then I’m not important enough to you to be greeted in that way.

Plus, the month of January is still the beginning…once February hits we’re full throttle into the year…nothing is new about it anymore.

Although I may give a grace period to football fans if you’re going to a party and haven’t seen some people in 2026 yet…as the Super Bowl is in February, technically. That may be ok. But only that scenario!!

That’s lame. That’s like when people start a conversation like “not to be rude, but…” or “no disrespect, but….”

The “but” negates everything the precedes it. You might as well start with “I am going to make a comment that you likely will find to be rude, offensive or disrespectful right now…so here it comes…!”
