I Like What I'm Reading (not spec'ing, but like actually reading)!

Quick update from me:

  1. The Closet #1
  • not a terrible start, but also not one that compels me to say this is a good start. I’ll give it another 2 issues to do something. Artwork was average. Story was pretty plain and basic. Nothing new. Nothing earth-shattering. Just - meh.
  1. A Town Called Terror #2
  • Interesting read so far. This is a horror comic with an element of mystic to it. The art is very gothic, and the writing is well-paced - matching the story. I will keep reading and see where it goes.

How many titles are you guys typically reading at at time?

10-12 per month for me

It varies from 1-3, depending on what catches my eye and piques my interest.

I read a lot month to month. Big comic reader.

Anybody read: Batman - The Smile Killer? That was a really good story and enjoyed the dark artwork. Recommend.

Havent read it yet. Have you read the series that came before it, Joker: Killer Smile ?

Jeff Lemire and Andrea Sorrentino are an A+ creative team. They first came to my attention on their Green Arrow Eisner winning run. It’s amazing! I grabbed the hardcover of the run when my shop had a sale on it and it blew me away. Highly recommended.

I read 50 a month or so.

I can’t even count how many books I read, but also behind on a lot of my reading.

my current read pile is about 10 long boxes deep — I’m a little behind and can’t seem to catch up.

I just finished reading Grim #1. A really good read for the first issue. Story is intriguing and the artwork is engaging to me. Coloring matched the mood of the story. First issue had a twist right off the bat. Adding to my pull for the month.

Anybody read ‘A Calculated Man’ yet? Issue #1 was really good. Great story and concept. Artwork was decent. Reminded me of a cross between Goodfellows and Monk. Defiantly will add this to the pull list.

I picked it up but I have not read it yet.

Grim #2 was a good follow up. It moved the story further and was well paced. The art popped more on this one. It gave just enough tease to get excited for the next one.
