Remind me what else he has written? I don’t recall off the top of my head.
I haven’t read either, but Limbo and Coffin Bound came up in the early solicits for Home Sick Pilots as previous work of his (Limbo with Caspar Winjgaard as is HSP)
I liked the first issue of, “Coffin Bound,” but forgot to read the following issues.
I liked Coffin Bound, but like you, I only read the first 3 issues I think myself, was waiting for more to read.
Limbo sucked. I can’t recall too much but I remember reading the first issue and didn’t even finish it… grew bored halfway through it.
Anyone else read Marvel Action Chillers? My son and I are huge fans. He was super pumped off for Iron Dracula!
I haven’t read issue 3 yet, was that at the end of the issue?
Indeed. Last page. My son’s been on me all week asking if I saw the last page.
No Elsa in this book.
Sorry for the spoiler!
Just read Cullen Bunn’s Piecemeal one shot from Aftershock. Big oversized horror one shot. Was really decent.
I just finished My Favorite Thing is Monsters. Its fantastic.
I finally got around to reading The Picture of Everything Else #1. It was good! I thought the writing was enjoyable (I also like Watters’ Home Sick Pilots) and the art felt very appropriate to the time period (much like it does for Home Sick Pilots). The set up to the continuing story was enough to give the reader an idea but not make it feel bland and linear. I’m in on this one.
Batman New52 is one of my favorites. One of the first comic runs I got together When I got back into comics. I sold the entire run for super cheap— hate that— but I got some keys back for the collection. The court of owls, death of the family and Endgame are some of the best stories in the run. I could’ve lived without Gordon as Batman though.
I’ve heard that opinion regarding Gordon a lot from people who had read the series and, while I agree the ensuing storyline was weaker than the previous arcs, after everything that happened in Death Of The Family, it was fun to shift gears a little bit and see where they would take Gordon and Mr. Bloom. I really enjoyed it and thought they treated Bruce with respect in the process.
I just read Afterlift by Zdarsky. Pretty good standalone novel.
I have also been reading a graphic novel called Term Life by A.J. Lieberman. It’s been really good so far. It’s about a guy who runs afoul of a mafioso type. Knowing he is going to die, he takes out a life insurance policy on himself, payable to his estranged daughter, but, it doesn’t take effect for 21 days. The story is of his efforts to stay alive.
The Dollarama stores near me have started sporadically selling Marvel and DC tpb and some hardcovers for $4, so I have been reading a lot of books I wouldn’t normally have gone for. Not sure where they are coming from, but it’s a fun find when the pop up. Some good, some bad, but you can’t beat the price.
I just read Shadow Doctor from Aftershock last night. Really liked it and looking forward to next issue.
I just reread the NYX limited series that introduced X-23. Forgot how good it was. Reads like a movie. On to Venom vs Carnage and then finishing the last 8 issues of the most recent Batman Beyond series. Gonna miss Dan Jurgens on it
I just finished Dark Horses’ ‘Alien: The unproduced screenplay’, 5 issue mini. I really enjoyed the different twists in this version, that was written before Giger or Moebius had any input into the film. Good stuff and highly recommended to any fan of the Alien franchise.
I read all Alien comics and agree it was good. Very different but satisfying read.
Before my purge of comics, I pulled-out my, "Deathstroke,’ comics from Christopher Priest’s run. It was totally amazing for the 50 issues (and some Teen Titan tie-ins) it ran.
Oh, I’ve also been really digging, “Stillwater.” Issue #6 just came out and it’s going on a break till May while the trade comes out, I think. It had some spec heat at first that seems to have cooled but the story is stellar.
