I Like What I'm Reading (not spec'ing, but like actually reading)!

Silver Coin #2 wasn’t as good as the first one but still kept me entertained. It was sort of predictable but definitely a bit gruesome at the end… Looking forward to the next issue though.

Anyone read that new, “Heroes Reborn,” #1? Any good? I got a first issue to give a try.

No, but most of the covers made my eyes bleed.

Finished the 3rd issue of Nuclear Family. It’s really good.

Yes. And the last page was a fun surprise.

Yeah, I finished Nuclear Family #3 as well. I still like it but is it me or does the art seem to be getting worse than from the initial issues?

yeah, I’m not too crazy about the art for this issue.

Way of X … wasted money IMO. Story was boring and put me to sleep 1/4 of way into it. Will file under ‘sell at first chance’.

So I’m really enjoying a lot of the Infinite Frontier titles and how they are all interconnected to one another in one way or another. The only book that seems to be on it’s own is Justice League.

Batman and Swamp Thing seem to be connecting, and obviously Nightwing and Joker are connected to Batman and the events of Joker War and City of Bane.

Teen Titans is connected to Suicide Squad and later down the road it looks like it will tie into Crime Syndicate.

All of these titles ultimately tie back to Future State and the possible futures that we witnessed.

Over at Marvel I’m pretty much just reading Thor by Cates now that KIB has ended. Besides Star Wars and Alien that I am reading, which I consider to be their own entities, I am mostly only reading Cates books and with the exception of the KIB 5 turdfest I really haven’t been disappointed.

I’ve heard great things about Immortal Hulk, but Hulk is a character that I just don’t find interesting (and I KNOW that there is more to him than just “I get angry and break things”) but… just not my cup of tea. It was so a good 30+ issues deep by then and had crazy amounts of heat around it. Daredevil is something else I’d like to read but by the time I heard of it, it was 20 issues deep or so and incredibly hard to pick up the back issues in my area, for a reasonable price.

Also enjoying Radiant Black but that may have been in another post already.

But this is the thread we talk about things we are enjoying…

Maybe we start a thread of “junk reads”…

Only if I’m allowed to express my disappointment in most if not all of Tynion’s titles…

Those go in the “I hate what you wrote/you ruined my favorite character/Bendddddiissssssssss :shakes fist:” thread

Oh yeah… we need a “I hate you Bendis” topic as well…

I have a love/hate relationship with Bendis comics. I either love them or hate them.

It might be because Im reading after an entire story has come out, but I enjoyed reading We Live 1-5. For what i assumed from the somewhat cartoony art to be a post apocalyptic kids travel from point A to point B book it was surprisingly brutal and darker than I thought it would be. The ending of issue 5 was totally unexpected and turned it into a whole other genre.

I agree, we live is fantastic, after the second issue SPOILER with the death of the bus driver I had no clue what was going to happen. And playing the music alongside reading it, is just magnificent, captures each mood perfectly and imo is the ONLY way to read it now.
