I Like What You Got! (Online Scores)

Found another copy of Dan Mora’s 1st cover and a couple more of this variant I’ve been picking up whenever I see it.

Can’t find that B&R 10 anywhere…I do like it as well. I have the one PC copy and I got that from McS a while back.

They are proving tough to find… DC variants in general aren’t heavily ordered (it seems to me)… I think shops order way less than they used to, especially DC. Partly because the spec game never really took off for DC the way it did for marvel so shops got accustomed to ordering more marvel.

It doesn’t help that a lot of the variants are card stock or foil at $6 or more. Pretty easy to justify not ordering a lot of pricier variants on less popular titles.

eBay lot of 100+ (was like 122 total) for $60 incl shipping…I saw the Wanted book and some of these others in the photos and figured why not for 50 cents each. Also incl a run of Supreme Power 1-18, 1602 1-8, a few other random complete minis and 4 or 5 minis missing only an issue plus a bunch of random #1s and a lot of “junk” but I figured I could turn a little profit fingers crossed. The DD, Warlock and Wanted are all signed which I didn’t notice in the eBay pics.

Despite some good sales in the later quarter of 2025
I have not done much online shopping for comics. But I do have quite a list of saved searches and I’ve been patiently waiting to pounce on opportunities….particularly auctions that start with low bids

One was this book (above)…This was listed as VF/NM but the photos looked clean…and I checked the sellers other auctions and it seems as though he grades nothing above VF/NM…and the shipping was $11…so I knew these factors combined would likely discourage bidders.

Sure enough it did. All in (bids, shipping tax) was $37. And it’s a solid 9.8 candidate!

Second book is related to a cartoon show I remember watching as a kid. I’ve been wanting a high grade copy of for the PC…not necessarily NM, but just nice presenting for a good price. This one actually seemed nice in the pictures…potential NM. Graded NMs can for $100s and 9.8 can be $1000 book.

Anyway, not paying that. But paid $48 shipped for this. It has one small spine tick that breaks color, spine corners just a little rounded…but the pages and back color are very white.

I would say would make it a solid 9.4 Candidate after a simple clean & press…/except there’s a very local area along the spine that seems “feathered” for lack of a better term (see pic below). It’s very small, but not sure how that would impact the grade. So content to keep it raw and flip through/read and enjoy.

Nice find on BotP! My favorite cartoon as a kid as well. I have the whole Alex Ross run on the 2002 run. Still looking for that one though.

Love the battle of planets comics!
Nice!

7, 8. 9 are dogs to find in high grade (and thus cheap)
And the #1 in a Whitman high grade is needle in haystack

5 packages arrived today. I’ve been busy.

Found a copy of Batgirl 1, but min order was $10. So grabbed a couple extra books to flip for small profit.

My first D’Orc arrival. Now I’m on the game boyz. Shop also had a copy of this Rook 2nd print as a bonus find :+1:

Grabbed this Abs WW variant. They also had a copy of ACE 6 1st which should cover cost of the order.

Remember Canto? Remember Flops doing a variant of the final issue (supposedly)? One HTF Can now be found cheap.

And then there’s the FOMO buy! IDW exclusives of Sonic 84. I still have hope for these…just needs a little buzz…

If I don’t have my reading glasses on and I look at this on my iPhone, that Sonic cover character looks like it has two weird anime boobs.

Oh snap, you’re right. It is like that painting of Lincoln’s head, where you get close, and it is actually Dali’s naked wife on the balcony…but in reverse?

We have our first copy up on eBay….

Little story here. Been wanting a 9.8 copy for a few years…but had other goals/priorities. Glad I waited as when I started thinking about it sales were $1000.

A lot of listings are in the $400 range. Cheapest BIN is currently $350.

However I’ve been watching this listing for a few months now. It was listed under $300 with OBO…/ every so often I’d put in an offer under $250 and get denied. Then recently the seller dropped his price to $245.

It just so happens another copy came up for live auction last week, but in a new case (46 series)…I was leery of it having a banana, as this book was notorious for having bends and spine ticks as it was. Yet it ends up selling for $280. Well
Above the other BIN listing.

Knowing anyone who lost may make a move on the BIN copy, I quickly made an offer of $230 and they accepted.

Things I like about this book. It’s a 21 series slab…graded in May of 2020…well before the CGC slab issues and right before the boom so the grading was more consistent and trusted (my experience). And it’s every bit the 9.8. Have not seen a better Canto 1. So very happy with this purchase.

Nice grab. I bought mine with a 9.2 label, cracked it out and pressed it to a 9.8. This was back in 2019 before it peaked. Really did it just to challenge myself but ended up holding onto it. Probably should have sold it and bought a copy now for a $500 profit :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

A little behind on my mail call. One of these Dorcs I got t last week. The other arrived today. Army of Darkness is for the PC.

I sold this 1:25 Ground Zero for $50 about a month ago…so when another popped up for under $15 I grabbed it.

These all came from one seller. Paid an average of $4.50 shipped. The Peter Porker is for the PC, but still fetches a decent amount on eBay.
