I Like What You Got (Original Art)

If there are any Archie/Batman fans, this is a pretty cool piece. Dan Parson’s layouts binder.

Saw a post from David Petersen (Mouse Guard) pop up on Twitter and it took me a minute to figure out he actually had it for sale. I couldn’t hit buy fast enough.

Coming to the brain trust on this out of curiosity.
I saw this original art at my lcs today. He doesn’t know who the artist is. It just came in and he’s selling it. So, who do you think this is by? Anybody? Nobody? Looks like a commission opposed to a published page.

thats an awesome piece for $80 bucks.

Looks like an FM, but for sure not Frank Miller (not his style). But could be Francis J. Manapaul ? Missing his large middle ‘J’. Just guessing …

Good guess, but I don’t think it’s Francis Manipul, he’s signs like this:

Yeah could not make out if there was a long J or not. Tried to do a Google Image search but no dice. Could post on other comic sites too. Good luck tracking the artist. The piece does look good - Mortal Kombat (?) !!

Posted it on comicartfans. Maybe somebody there will know.

Technically off-topic but interesting in the world of comic OA:
I don’t normally watch Heritage auctions live, but the Miller DKR #1 cover is up momentarily. Expecting this one will make the news.

Edit: Final price was $2M, actually $2.4M with the stupid premium

I’d rather buy a not as popular Picasso for that amount of money…

You hypothetical opinion has been hypothetically noted.

This makes me wonder what something like the original art for AF #15 would go for, if it still exists.

I think it was gifted to the Library of Congress.

Those jerks don’t appreciate the gift.

Man, now I want a National Treasure 4 where they steal Kirby’s AF15 cover.

Definitely more than $3,36m

So the cover to AF #15 is probably $20 million? Maybe more?
