Ok…so I try to stay up on current trends & relate them to this comic hobby.
I was watching my grand-daughters (I’m exhausted) age 6 & 3 , and they were riveted to this show called K Pop Demon Hunters. Dancing, singing the songs, over & over & over.
A cursory search doesn’t appear that there are any comic books associated with this? Is it something more associated with manga books?
All I know is that if there isn’t a comic book…when they do ultimately release one…Grandpa is going all in!
Yeah, my wife and kids dig it and the students my wife teaches. It was an original Sony movie that they sold the rights to Netflix and then it became huge and even had some theaters showings that made a ton of money. As far as I know there’s really no manga or comic tying in yet, but give it time!
All I can tell you is that my 3 & 4 year olds are OBSESSED with it. My 3 year old daughter tries to sing along the best she can and my 4 year old son calls it “The girl movie”. They probably watch it more than anyone should hahaha
Looks like there is a comic coming for this stuff. I had no idea what you guys were talking about and then I saw two of my kids watching it ( and singing along). I wonder if the comic is worth trying a spec attempt. Problem is, the comic don’t sing…… ( in my old man cowboy voice ).
Hmmmmm…buy and hold for 30 years waiting for those 10 to 16 year olds to get punched in the face by nostalgia when they enter their 40s!
I think I read somewhere that the K-Pop is now the highest viewed Netflix original in their history. Not sure if that means the others were so bad or this was so good?
