No spoilers but first episode was interesting. Not what I expected to be honest & that’s ok.
Enjoyed the premiere, cautiously optimistic for the rest of the season. Definitely had the True Detective with superheroes vibe they said it would. You can tell Kyle Chandler is having fun with the role, Hal has some great lines. Go into it like you’re watching a live action Elseworlds and not a 1:1 adaptation of any GL runs.
1st episode was GREAT !!!
If the DCU follows this type of storytelling and tone and gets ride of James Gunn’s wacka-doo goofy movies, it will be very successful.
It could’ve been better, though it was good.
I’ll be honest, the only GL run I’ve ever read was emerald dawn. But it was my favorite run.
I am gonna have to watch it
I really only read the book when Kyle Rayner was GL in the 90s. I was a teen and all about the replacement heroes…Azrael, Kyle, the four Supermen lol. But have read GL: Rebirth, some of the other Geoff Johns stuff, older stuff like Emerald Dawn.
I watched the first episode last night. Pretty good.
Lanterns is 2 for 2 so far. 2nd ep was just as entertaining and I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of the season. IMO they’re doing a pretty good job tweaking the GL origin/lore without making it unrecognizable to GL fans.
I told you guys. Never bet against HBO
So Sheriff Kane is from Gotham. That her married name? Cause seems to me like she could be related to Batwoman.
Also in the first episode she’s on the phone and says, "Tell Barb I said 'hey.”
Yes, I did catch that
im thinking the reason hal didnt update in the last 10 years is because its not the real hal, he is a manhunter, and real hal if off in another sector
Episode 2 must be pretty good given how everyone is hiding spoilers….hopefully will get to it tonight.
heres my problem its feels like the han solo movie
where its a heist movie in space that takes place in star wars universe with minimal "star wars "
green lanterns feels like a mystery in dc universe with minimal green lantern
Andor was like that and the reason why I actually enjoyed it. So tired of Jedi, lightsabers, and Skywalkers.
I’m not a GL historian by any means but of what I’ve read there’s a good mix of earth bound and giant cosmic space story. As a comics fan I’d love to see more costumes constructs and more of the GL Corps etc. but I can see why they’d ease in to it with the grounded approach to grab viewers who aren’t comic nerds like us lol.
