No grading allowed. It’s evil and doesn’t add that much value anymore. Thank you and you’re welcome.

I’m not in the Spears train, never got on BUT I wanted to share what I recently came across:

BackerKit ( similar to Kickstarter) is hosting Dynamite’s Thundercats - The Original (Marvel) Issues Omnibus. They have a special going, if you order either of the single issue hard covers, which is either the original issue 1 cover or a recreation by Shalvey (as opposed to the 2x soft covers) you will receive two exclusive comics. They both appear to be Spears covers.

Doesn’t feel very “exclusive” to me, so I cancelled my backerkit.

8 different covers, and they’re about as original as changing the font on a news article.
Good job Dynamite/Spears. You’ve gained another fan here.

At least J. Scott Campbell changes an arm pose occasionally with his variants.

This is the norm I thought with Dynamite though…

Yup, Dynamite does this with all their titles. They take a cover and change the colors on the background and presto we have a 1:3, 1:5, 1:7, 1:12, 1:15, 1:50 etc. That’s how they have 75 different variants for every book that comes out. For this reason I avoid ALL Dynamite titles.

They commissioned Spears for a cover and then went ham to pump out all the variants.

Yes. This is a Dynamite thing, not a Spears thing. I agree he’s over saturating the market with his work, but this falls outside that saturation as it’s strictly how Dynamite does things.

Thanks @BatmanFan . I did see that (keeps coming up on my Facebook as an add).

I would agree, the spears “exclusive” covers are not much of an incentive…I am a Thundercats fan, as a child of the 80s. I’m actually would like to acquire the entire Marvel run in NM or better, raw. Rather put my money there…I see them at local shows but other than issue 1 I haven’t pulled the trigger on any yet.

The Omni would probably take up less space and is definitely easier to keep track of as one giant hard cover.

If I was a giant Thundercats fan I’d buy it, but it was after my time.

Why does Lion-O look like Guy Fieri with red hair? Did Spears 3d model Guy’s face?

See and I thought it looked more like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon…

I was thinking Mel Gibson Braveheart.

I just like to keep it in a nice sturdy case. Not so much about the GRADE.
I got 8.2s hanging on my wall

Yup! I’ve got a 4.5 ASM 300 that I have displayed. Not about grade for me either. My NM98 isn’t graded, but likely 5-ish grade. Also hanging on my wall.

I have a couple of graded NM 98’s.

Spears work and colors don’t seem to work well with books like Thundercats.

I’d like to see him do more homages of classic PCH covers like this Blue Bolt 111, which I think would fit his style more. Both drawing monsters/horror and colors.

I think thats more of a Fancavilla style then Spears.
