With the amount of covers he has been putting out, even though a lot of the Monsters covers are used from his trading card set I would have to say workload. He is in massive demand now and is probably starting to get stretched thin.

The same thing that happened to Momoko and others that surge in popularity, they get swamped so their work quality suffers.

I’ve said it before…his choice of using primary colors doesn’t translate well over to other genre. At least not with his style.
We’ve seen he has the ability to do more. The Thundercats Apex cover was pretty good. But this is not good.

Yeah, “Ultimate X-Men,” is the one below-average Ultimate series for me currently. Not good.
