Mark Spears Covers

And yet another way to unquestionably make some good $
An exclusive cover only at this signing?
$$$ for sure

And a solid cover at that. Oh man, that’s going to be a mad house.

And to his credit (at least so far); he understands the true meaning of the word “exclusive”… my pet peeve.
I am so so so so tired of major con “Exclusives” being called “Exclusive” when, yea, they’re available at NYCC, SDCC, Heroes, etc… but they’re also put up online for sale. These snake oil salesman are still trying to extend the word “exclusive” as both at the show AND online.
At least this guy gets it… exclusive is exclusive to going to the signing physically… period. (at least for now … until he may add extras online. Then I’ll call him snake oil too  )

100% agree.

An exclusive should be just that - exclusive to ___ event/con/store/etc.

Ordered 8 copies from MCS and got 3 out of the 4 cards. Not bad but this could have been better.

I bought 10 copies (5ea from 2 retailers) in the hopes of 1 set of 4 - and got one set of all 4

The other 6 all have the Slayer card in which one retailer sent all 5 copies with the Slayer card

I haven’t seen or heard anything recently if any of them are ‘short printed’. I don’t think they were but I’m sure Mark will mention it if it has happened.

Sticks to these Monster covers and I’ll remain a buyer for his stuff. I love both of these. I’m a fan of anything Halloween (ish) and def the Headless Horsemen. I’ll buy a few of those for certain. That initial Headless Horsemen book he did for Darkhorse was one of his best. Not an easy find either.

I saw folks hyping up those Absolute covers he did this week…personally…hated them, even in person didn’t work for me.

I really like that Hexy cover; even more than the homaged cover. The background and colors make sense as well.

Hexy is reused art from the Kickstarter with a recolored background

Thanks for the info. I’m gonna pass on it now.

I’m still going to buy it – a lot of the issues are recolored kickstarter or card art. Buy what you love and you’ll never regret it.

Agreed. All the first print monster covers were kickstarter exclusives first.

The Hexy is clever. Anytime you homage Powergirl you’ve got to play up her most notable assets after all.

Hey, just a couple of notes about the Monsters #5 polybags:

The cards are serial #'d and one is “SP’d” (short printed)

Slayer: 4,517
Samurai Woman: 4,517
Golden Man: 4,517
Terminator: 1,999

EDIT: There’s one set on eBay for $49.95 + $8.65 + tax (grr) that MIGHT end up being a good deal. I think you’ll spend more than that buying individually because I do not see a lot of the ‘Terminator Skeleton’ ones available.

Dang. Wish I would have known this yesterday. My only terminator card sold for $15.
