From chatter I’m seeing this will easily breach 200k pre-orders… as crazy as it may sound it wouldn’t surprise me to see 400k in the end. I am doubtful that ~30 days between pre-order and release is enough time so it could get pushed out.
Anyone who bought in on Spears “Monster and the Wolf” Kickstarter are likely to be happy campers when all this is released. “If” Spears doesn’t get serious option consideration after this I don’t know what will.
How do they avoid somebody buying a bunch, weighing them, opening certain ones, and reselling the rest sealed.
Actually, I’m worried it’ll have an adverse effect due to over saturation… I bought in heavy on the kickstarter, so hoping it doesn’t of course.
It’s a risk for sure… you might be able to tell cardstock from foil with an accurate scale but I really don’t know.
I did too. Prices may not spike as high if there weren’t going to be 75+ variants of the regular releases but fans, collectors and investors that have money to spend will always go for the lowest print, especially if is the true first print. I think the Kickstarter will do just fine on the after market. The biggest concern I have is on which covers to keep for the pc and which ones to sell to make up the initial cost.
Got myself a 10-pack via your link. Hope you get a kickback for that!
Sweet. Just ordered 60 copies. My original goal
Was 100. Maybe I’ll give in later but couldn’t justify the 100 right now.
I think I like the Spears Wonder Woman. I think, but not sure.
I am; however, sure it is 100% better than the Spears Absolute Wonder Woman cover
Not to be outdone, Dynamite, leading publisher of more covers than any one store can buy, is… you guessed it, doing Blind Bags!
DIE!NAMITE BLOOD RED #1 CVR F BLIND BAG VAR
VAMPIRELLA #8 CVR F BLIND BAG VAR
Damn you Kirkman for starting all this… These things are more invasive than those Chinese Lantern Beetles.
Let me guess the blind bag can have an ultraviolet, red background, blue background, foil, green background… nothing but a ploy to sell all the crap covers they put out.
They are just packaging all the other covers they do anyway but at a $10 price tag more than likely.
Exactly…
Publishers sure know how to kill a trend fast…
As for the Spears blind bags, there is a Ebay seller selling packs of 100 for $349.99…havent seen anyone else offer it that cheap.
These clowns don’t give buyers enough credit. Those Battle Beast bags weren’t a bad buy in. It was a fun gamble that offered the chance for a decent “win”. It wasn’t just an automatic purchase for folks.
I think Spears is also “fair” (as fair as gambling gets anyway).
The Batman one…hell no…the Dynamite one…hell no.
I truly think the fan base is becoming far more selective with how they spend their money.
