Mark Spears Covers

If any of you ordered Monsters #6 blank and holofoil from your LCS, Diamond is shipping them out. These were only available through Diamond and not on Lunar. I had my doubts if these were going to be sent.

LOL…option doesn’t mean squat nowadays

Also depends on the studio producing it

Ya, look at SIKTC and Dept. Truth… been optioned for quite some time now.

SIKTC is happening.
Department of Truth, probably depends if SIKTC is successful.
But that’s Netflix for ya.

I seriously doubt Mark Spears got Netflix interested.

Options expire too… it’s just a quick way for studios to hold onto property while they decide to move forward or not. Most indie options expire and it’s years before they actually happen if they ever do happen. Take option news with a grain of salt but also sell high on the news if you got copies to sell… options = great way to dump off a few books and hold onto a few for if/when it does actually make it to the screen.

Still can use the hype to move books.

I am not exaggerating that I have a whole long box of comic books that are devoted to/have a label of “optioned”
Some from such a long time ago…Animosity and Body Bags pops into my head as ones I sort of bought up before I learned better. Faith and Plunder come to mind as well. There are sooooooo many.

I like the book and all…but yeah “quite possibly” the biggest hit since TMNT is a reach and really making full use of the quite possibly…It sold out at comic stores immediately because nobody really ordered the darn thing to begin with.

Invincible would like a word about the biggest indie comic since TMNT.

I wonder how much Image is really a “indie” anymore though. They sell a serious amount of comic books right now.

“optioned” just sells more books

As @Anthony said, use the hype in your favor, even if it goes nowhere!

Needs to stand in line behind Walking Dead.

Hype moves books. I had copies of The Terrifics #1 sell today off the Superman movie hype.

It helps that Mr. Terrific is an awesome character in print or film too!

Both are massively bigger than Monsters. The amount of TPB sales alone on those titles is staggering.
