Kickstarter warns that there are no guarantees on the fulfillment of books. Which is crap.

That’s the risk with kickstarts for sure. It tells you that you’re donating money to projects and products that might not ever happen. So yeah, think of it like an investment, there’s a chance you lose it all.

Ya gotta be careful with Kickstarter. There are some projects from back in the day that took my money and ran. It is sad. I’m not saying Spears will do this at all, just stating stuff.

No, was a video game and they just disappeared with the money. Like a ghost.
Sorry man, It will come back around to them, not that we are to wish anything negative on anyone, I’ve just seen it play that way. treat others as you want to be treated and all of that 
Spears is shooting himself in the foot if he thinks backers are gonna support him in the future if they’re not taken care of now.

I feel your pain. I do think they will be fulfilled, obviously late. He got too popular too fast and over committed from my perspective. My biggest issue with all of this is the Koolaid drinkers and failed assurances. Certain “influencers” will back him up on any failures he makes whereas if someone else did it, it would be clickbait drama and that person would be dragged through the mud.
Full disclosure I bought 14 cases and have been selling the hell out of the books after opening them and listing only the least or non-damaged books. I don’t have any regrets but he needs to do better. Buying so many cases it worked out for me, if a retailer only bought one case they could easily have gotten a dud.
Let’s recap:
Halloween blind bags were delayed due to ensuring proper randomization -
FAIL - I opened cases where half of the books were lower print run books, I opened cases where I got 13 out of 160 that were lower print run books. I would get a streak of 3 to 15 of the same cardstock cover from a case.
Mark said you couldn’t tell the difference between books inside the blind bags -
FAIL - If you felt a foil and any other of the books while in the bag you could tell the difference. I got to the point I could also tell a glow in the dark just by feel. I was less consistant identifying the black and white and night of the living dead. I made a game out of it as I was opening.
Mark chose what was supposed to be a good printer “one that DC uses”
FAIL - many books had light to severe imprints from the bag seam damaging the book. Some looked like someone dragged one of those spurred wallpaper wheels down the cover. I don’t recall DC having this issue with their bags.
Mark said the kickstarter would be out before M&TW #1 was released - FAIL
Like I said no regrets, but Mark needs to take feedback to heart which I believe he has. The question is if he can make adjustments so this doesn’t happen again.

Just want to keep everyone in the loop. We have started shipping. To keep it more organized we are shipping each order and not combining them in fear we might miss something. So if you got 10 orders, you should get 10 packages. They may not all ship at the same time as well. Just want to you know in case you get one package and wonder where the rest of it is. We are going as fast as we can so please bare with us. We also just received the trading cards but will continue to do the comics since that is our first priority. If you provided an email, then easyship software should send you an email with tracking when your item ships. Will keep you all updated.

Yeah, so I read this update as:
“My last 2 updates were a lie. I just needed to buy more time so I can do work on other things. I need at least another week to get through some more stuff before i get these out the door. Oh yeah, you know that large team I said was going to be helping me get these packed and shipped? Well, turns out that’s not really the case either. So you’ll get them when you get them. And guess what, you know how i said it would easier and better to ship all of your orders to you together to make sure you get your appropriate extras? Yeah, not gonna do that. I mean, that’s not asking for additional headaches now is it?”

To be clear hear, I absolutely 100% agree with Lanlubber’s analysis here. I want the guy to do well but I want him to do it right. It’s too much and the general comic book normies (like us) aren’t going to put up with it like certain influencers are.
And honestly, I think I’m so much more upset about this because of the macroverse debacle. I’m backing 5 kickstarters that are all late and that provide updates with promises that never come to fruition.

For what it’s worth due to the damages from the polybag there are still very few graded 9.8s or better on ebay active or sold. Unless my ebay-fu is failing me.
For those precious few undamaged by the polybag, CGC will ensure the rest are “taken care of”.
The label will say 9.8, but anyone paying attention will know better

Has anyone gotten their Kickstarters yet? Looks like they are slowly starting to trickle out….
Nope. Still waiting. I did reach out to the guy that sold the first copies on eBay and he said he received them last week. He confirmed they came via UPS from Alabama. Doesn’t seem to be a rhyme or reason to the order they’re being shipped in.
