It’s reported that Steven Yeun is playing Sentry in Thunderbolts movie. Robert Kirkman dropped to news in an article comparing his role as Invincible to his new role as Sentry. I’ll try to find a link.
Yup, mentioned earlier in this topic…
Note: Kang and all his variants died on the way back to their timelines.
Looks like Henry Cavill is going to be Cyclops in the MCU…
That’s not good for the brain. Cyclops already left the MCU and got a job taking care of Lois Lane and Superboy before anyone ever heard of Henry Cavill.
Flash in the pan. By midpoint all the characters are different.
Disney needs to sell/spin off Marvel … they have ruined Marvel. I guarantee Marvel creativity/quality goes up if this happens.
All I see is a bunch of white folk.
I mean, I don’t know if Marvel needs to be risk averse. If they didn’t take risks we would’ve never gotten the Guardians of the Galaxy flick. I think part of it is saturating the market with too much stuff and a lot of it not being particularly amazing.
Good.
It’s not the subject matter, it’s the writers, directors and producers who have no business doing comic book flicks. Get people who know the medium and have a passion for it. Good things will follow. Keep doing what has failed the past five years and things will just get worse.
There is a video floating around with the creators of many of the Marvel movies saying they never read the comic or knew anything about the characters. Marvel let them have free rein to do whatever they wanted.
Disgraceful
Really feels like the make it or break it with regards to the future of the MCU is going to end up with Blade. It’s an incredible opportunity to do things correctly while moving towards a whole new world of characters/ideas/narratives. Horror/mystery/suspense is popular. I feel like the Halloween Werewolf by Night show was very well received (more than anything else by far). They need to do their homework, talk to fans, and get it right.
Will be interesting to see how things play out.
I think by trying to reach a bigger, broader audience they have forgotten who their fan base is. You don’t bite the hand that feeds you. A little artist interpretation is one thing, completely changing a character or story is another.
The problem is, is that they strayed too far from the source material. You know, the automatic fan base that will come out and see the movies. Guaranteed money. Yes, they need to appeal to a broader audience as well, but man, the movies are almost unrecognizable. People of course stood up and said “wait a minute, I want to see the characters I know” and other shouted back “you have to accept change, you are too closed minded”. In the end, they changed everything and the bottom has started to fall out. I have not seen a comic book movie since Guardians 3 unless I can watch it for free at home.
I haven’t seen the last guardians movie yet. I’m not feeling any big urge for any of the current content prior to maybe turning on Hulu Live to record football games in the Fall. I can usually activate Disney Plus the last week of a contract month for Hulu and have it prorated down to like 50 cent and binge everything before dropping again. I’ll know more exactly when they announce who’s hijacking which football games forcing Hulu Live to be able to see them and probably another free trial to catch whichever game Amazon holds ransom. Usually if you buy something on Amazon, they’ll toss a trial on for a week or a month for a flat rate with the shipping cost of the item taken off.
I can’t name a good Marvel movie since they finished the Thanos Saga. All of them are must see tv but not worth the cost of purchasing the blue ray or going out of the way for. If I wait, Red Box usually dumps their blue rays and dvd’s for a couple 3 bucks after a while as well. Sometimes it’s easier just to buy the blue ray for $2.99 than to make 2 trips to return one at normal price.
I am getting back into physical media. I hate the streaming services. Tubi is good though, lots of movies and free. Same with Roku network and Samsung Network
