Even if there is some market manipulation sprinkled in, it doesnât take a coordinated effort. All it takes is a small spark and then fomo buyers dump the gasoline. Lol
New book heats up. âMarket manipulation!!!â
Every time?
It is rather amusing, since in order to truly manage market manipulation you would have to control almost the entirety of the supply and dribble it out as demand heats up. But that is true market manipulation, Iâm assuming that when people are getting out the pitchforks and torches because of market manipulation they mean the demand is moving up faster than supply and those with the supply are taking advantage, in an unorganized, organic fashion like you see for Dâorc, which I would more accurately call realizing your market opportunity. But it does not sound nearly as cool as yelling âmarket manipulation!â
Just saw this on their main page, 16 copies left at $19.xx. Seems like sold prices have been stagnant, $20-25?

BJ over in the comment section of Bleeding Coolâs Dâorc articleâŠ
âPeople passed on the first print. It sold out on E-Bay due to E-Bay glitches driving up prices and a small print run apparently to start with as most people didnât want to read or order it when the 1st print was still available and cheap.â
Um Ebay glitch driving up prices? OK.
Yes. The glitch of them selling for more than he listed them for. It happens. I sold one at $50 when the price moved to $70. Sold one at $40 when the price moved to $50.
I would disagree and say itâs not so black and white. You can have organic demand and âmarket manipulationâ at the same time. For instance, you can shill an auction, thus manipulating the market into thinking the FMV is not what it is.
I find it hard to believe this is organic since no one on here is buying at these prices, only selling. I get that this is a smallish group, but Iâd have to imagine someone by now would have said that this is a great story and/or fantastic art. Weâre seeing none of that, even here.
Yâall are a bunch of DâOrcs - I kid, I kid ![]()
its almost entirely fomo, with beneath the trees i saw multiple reviews about the great story when book was still cover price.
also most here are sellers, not over retail price buyers is my guess
Yeah, no one here buys at these prices.
I will say, when I read the first solicits of this, I was really interested. It felt like a super easy transition of this idea to TV/movie. People love the hot property, and this feels like one. Now, will it deliver? The art IS really good. The covers are fun. The story was maybe a B- in the first issue, but first issues often feel rushed.
I think issues 2-5 will be the deciding factor if this has legs or goes the way of Shade Craft. Remember that one? Great idea, cool covers, everyone went nuts for it. Then we read it, and were like⊠ummmm this is terrible.
This checked every box for early success. This is excitement and interest and FOMO. Not market manipulation.
Youâre killing me. I literally walked out of my LcS like 20
Minutes ago!
Will got back later after work.
When Aquaman and Flash books are heating up, you know the end of the world is near. Anthony manipulating the markets again.
Breaking news as it happensâŠ. As. It. HappensâŠ
Bleeding Hearts⊠officially hard to find. A cover is gone at two of my shops.
Sadly I am seeing stacks of them.
I really enjoyed this one. Iâm sticking with this series.
