While the Campbell Nightwing covers haven’t reached Mora status yet, many seem to be creeping up in that $15-20 range. Again, Campbell isn’t there yet, but it wouldn’t surprise me to see Mora slow down this year and Campbell heat up.
Campbell covers to look for if you can find them cheap:
79, 80, 92, 99, 102, 103, 109.

I don’t care to be honest. I think the last one we created part 2 when the topic reached it’s max comments allowed… By year might make more sense so then one can view the topic to review all the crap that heated up in that given year…

That was my thought, too. Might be easier to dig through past hot books if they were grouped by year.
Before we make any decisions…let’s look at the data.
The first thread was capped at 10,137 comments over about 1730 days. Thats about 5.9 comments per day, or 2100 comments per year.
The second thread is at about 3920 over 702 days. Thats 5.6 comments per day or about 2000 per year.
So hot comics have been pretty regular since 2019. This could be a way to gage the comic market by year going forward. Less posts = slower year.

Well…this week will certainly be interesting in regards to the Absolute Batman Ark-M special.
Feel like I have to carefully word things anymore. No dog in the hunt as I preordered them and can see they are in my pull box & I don’t sell much. Seems like a flood should hit but they are certainly moving already.
All I’m saying is secure a copy now if you didn’t already (but I’m assuming everyone here did)
I have made it clear to my comic shops I frequent that I would appreciate a copy. I swear, you would think at this point everyone is picking up anything, “Absolute Batman,” and nobody would be caught off guard. Right? I guess we’ll see soooooon!

The Absolute series (IMO) is phenomenal. If DC doesn’t do something with it I would be shocked.

I got my Absolute Batman 15 signed in from Midtown, already sold one for 2x what I paid for both plus shipping. Looking at my sales they have been 90% DC and of that probably 85% Absolute books.

I’m surprised they haven’t come forth with any (normal) Absolute action figures yet. They’ve announced a $400 sixth scale Absolute Batman to soak the rich fans.
McFarlane is especially perfect for these interpretations - it’d be nice to see them push something out before the license is officially Mattel’s again…
I’ve sold a bunch of absolute batman 1’s (cover a) and am sitting on more. I’ve been listing them individually, basically after one sells I list another.
I’ve only sold them raw, I haven’t sent any in for grading despite the $400+ sales because I worry about a flood of 9.8 slabs hitting ebay before or around when I’d get my copies back.
So for anyone here in my situation, or anyone with an opinion really, what would you be doing with your copies? Continue selling 1 by 1? Grading them? Hold all the copies bec. you believe they’ll continue to rise in value?

The risk is waiting for the CGC return while the hype could cool off in the meantime. If you’re already able to sell at a strong profit, it may not be worth taking on the extra risk of waiting for a 9.8. Some of these sales are driven by hype and by buyers planning to send the books in for the signing.

I’ve been selling all I have, probably keeping 2 first prints of cover A. $150-$200 is too much to pass up for a $5 book.

I would bleed them all and keep one just in case. I fear the 9.8 boom that is coming is going to flood the market and bring prices down.

Yeah that’s what my gut has been telling me… I may keep a few 9.8 candidates while continuing to sell the rest. In all my comic flipping years, I’ve never sat on so many copies of a book this hot…
edit: want to add that I am sitting on LOTS of copies of books that SHOULD be hot

Starting to creep….we’ll see what tomorrow’s flood brings.
I believe this is the boy featured in the book…it’s like an origin story.
I didn’t see any issue 2 cover As in my journey to 5 shops this weekend…
