I sold all my copies long ago of the early issues. I am curious what happens tho.
I have one.
Thatâs about 1/5 of Absolute Batman cover A.
I can only speak to my experiences with Strange Academy.
People did/were able to order appropriately so folks like us said âoh, 1st appearances, cool conceptâŠorder awayâ. I had & have plenty myself.
But we all know that the vast majority doesnât work this way. New comic day hits, things heat up with talk, books become in demand when issue #2 hits.
So orders are in, but at that time nobody cared about comics, many shops started closing. Here in Michigan we already started the whole stay home deal. So there may have been plenty of copies at the shop but it didnât matter as nobody was going there to browse, look at racks, or buy comics based on hype.
Issue #2 didnât hit till like the first week in July. So it wasnât so much that there werenât copies, BUT, they had already been sorted into bins, set aside by shops, or bought up en masse once shops opened (the case in my area).
When shops finally opened after COVID it was a speccers delight. Another case like Strange Academy was Something is Killing the Children with itâs reprint issues. Those were all just sitting on shelves (backed up) so a savvy collector could make out like a bandit.
Sorry, that was rambling, but hope it made sense. Canât believe it was long ago already.
It wonât let me add pictures
so imagine an eBay screenshot showing a fair few sales of this comic in the last couple of months around the $45 range.
X-Men blood hunt : Magik #1 Momoko variant 2024
I think this will increase in price further. I kind of regret selling the two copies I found.

This may not be legit. Thereâs still cheaper listings
Yeah, sorry bout that. Being new will limit features but the more you visit, read, comment, you gain trust that opens up more things on the forums. Itâs kind of designed to ween out the bots and spammers from being able to post pictures and links, etc.
Cheers and welcome to the forums!

I found this while going through an MCS orderâŠapparently I ordered a copy and forgot I did. I love it when that happens!
Not exactly on fireâŠbut if you find this in dollar bins might make you a few extra $$$. I recall when this came out I liked the cover as it was Thomas Wayne as Batman.
Felix AB drop today with a first time EQL system that is purely lottery driven instead of speed/typing driven. ![]()
Iâve had a 75% success rate with Felix Absolute Batman drops previously; but methinks this is the end of an era with the lottery system instituted. Time to lose to those that canât click on a âsidewalkâ, âbridgeâ, or âtraffic lightâ and be clever enough to know you should be logged into your SHOP account. And thatâs thousands of people; not hundreds/singles.
Mine as well give it a shot. I had a great run
Iâve been repeatedly shut out since the Catwoman #13 cover, so Iâm not hurt over the EQL thing. The odds of getting any AB Dragotta or DWJ from Felix have been dog**** for a long time now, so nothingâs new from that stance.
This is for issue #22? What happened to issue #24?
Yep. I hear ya.
Definitely still was a luck of the draw even if fast and logged in to SHOP.
Weâll see what happens after 3 pm.
Maybe, just maybe, ill be touting EQL as the best thing since the wheel
Theyâll get to that later. Theyâre doing several exclusives for that issue.
Also funny that, as predicted, no one is following DCâs supposed guidelines for pricing exclusives.
Historically speaking, the Design variants are coveted issues and go for the big money.
Personally, i cant stand the Design variants and much prefer the Sook. But since im just flipping these Felix variants i have been targeting, im going with the sure thing again
I got in on the Marvel Dc ones and still sitting here unsold.
Thatâs just it. If Iâm stuck with it, Iâd rather it be the Sook. ![]()
