Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Hey I’m too lazy to keep up with comics and trends but not too lazy to look at eBay before you purchase my item because on top off being lazy I’m greedy.

Could you imagine these shops on FCBD let me check the going rate before you take these free comic books.

Yeah, I mean, there are so many comics to keep track of, you just gotta understand that you will miss some. Doesn’t matter how much you know, there’s just too many.

I want people to find deals and hot books so that they will come back again and hopefully buy more, or at least check the site periodically.

Most of the time these guys aren’t even losing on the book, they just aren’t making AS MUCH as they could have.

Just imagine how they gonna feel with the SIKTC book and possible spec? Same way they did with the Spiderman FCBD book and Virus. Shops were charging and holding copies. Not all but some.

Guys with physical stores can have someone assigned to watch popular videos and check key collector every morning before they open to pull any new FOMO books out of back bins and make sure they’re priced right. Every business has an daily “opening” procedure, just add this 10 minutes task to the list.

How many could you need to look for daily? 10? 20?

It could not be easier to keep track of hot books now. These owners want consumers to do all the work for them. Don’t do business with stores that do this and they’ll just go away eventually.

That practice is also illegal in many states. Not allowed to put a price on something and then change it at the register. Let all these stores fail.

Does it work the other way, can I bring a book back that I paid $3 for, when it becomes a dollar binner and get my $2 back :joy:

Lol I like this idea…but for those stores…:joy:

Even if shops took the lazy way and subscribed to Key collector(which drives most of the FOMO and comic buying trends) that would solve there problems. We all joke about once the app finds out cheap copies become scarce. If a shop did that I’d be fine with it. At least they could adjust prices around the market movement. but waiting for me or you to dig through long boxes to grab a $5 book that’s now $20.

No, but I would find as many books I could that were priced OVER ebay, like a $5 bin book that sells for $1, make him look them all up and adjust the prices in my favor then say no thanks.

I’m curious to know where this shop is.

There was a shop I went into recently just like that…just about everything had no price and when I asked they said they’d look it up. Basically making the customers do their job finding hot books while they sat there and talked nonsense.

Even the books not in bag sitting on the shelf were subject to eBay prices.

Had a huge back issue and slab selection and I didn’t even bother to look at any of them. Never going there again. I don’t waste my time with shops like that anymore.

Lol that’s so scummy. Checking ebay sold prices is douchey but charging what people have them listed for is a whole nother level. Like those people who want outrageous prices when a book gets hot

Here’s the surprise news.

So the FCBD going to kick it off eh?

I’m not surprised.

That Nice House on the Lake homage cover is gonna heat up fast for sure.

Apparently, in the Basilisk #1 2nd Print, there is a Preview of the FCBD Slaughter House Preview.

Anybody read that yet? Any firsts in there?

It’s in North Vancouver Canada, Big Pete’s Collectibles.

Well, the owner of the shop has every right to do that…On the flip side (no pun) customers can, should and probably will choose to spend their money elsewhere.

Absolutely although I find changing the price of something that’s already priced when you bring it up to the counter is a little bit scummy and a terrible way to do business. I don’t shop there.
