Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

I make good money flipping comics without an app on my phone telling me what to buy. I usually get a good chuckle out of the guts who have their nose buried in their phone as they flip through bins. It’s a sign that they don’t know what they are looking for. Real knowledge is much more valuable than paid blind faith, imo. To each their own.

I’d be ‘super’ mad if I paid an app money to give me bad information. What exactly is ‘super’ mad? Is it like when Clark walks in on Lex and Lois in the bathroom, with their pants around their ankles?

Someone may try to sue them but in the TOS (Terms of Service), specifically Limitations the user has agreed that they can not sue KC. I doubt any lawyer would take the case.

The overarching point of folks should do their own homework should definitely be the take away from your point.
All of us should always read the TOS, even though they are lengthy and tedious.

Thankfully most people don’t do their homework. If everyone did, I wouldn’t be making the profits I do. That goes for all of us that know what we’re doing.

Looks like Star Wars High Republic adventures is selling really well… keep an eye out for them and the 1:10.

Pretty sure that’s not enforceable. It might take money, but any high profile lawyer could argue around that.

Agreed. KCC is just another tool (albeit not that sharp of a tool) for the knowledgeable to cross reference their info. I personally don’t use that particular tool, as I find it to be unreliable. I’m just not a fan of the indoctrinated KCC users who swear it is the comic flipping bible. :beers:

I have :100: opened a beer bottle with my claw hammer, several times. Mind you, I am a carpenter, and my crew enjoys their suds. :man_shrugging:

Alright, so that would make any TOS, ie Apple or Google, that you sign unenforceable?

And Yes lawyers can argue anything, as long as you pay them.

Point is that folks do not do their own research.

You’re missing the point. The keys you go find without the app are great and you’re such an incredible, god damn comic god expert for getting ahold of them. Good for you. I do that too. You are not special

I also SPECIFICALLY go look for everything on the prospec list the week it’s released and profit over and over and over from all those guys with their noses buried in their phones.

Super mad is all of you “vets” complaining about key collector when you’re supposedly far ahead of the game and should have all these books already since you’re all geniuses with “real” knowledge.

How is someone going to figure out all the keys for a certain character that’s been around 30, 40, 50 years, sometimes a lot more, anyway? Do you really expect people to read every comic that could even be tangentially related to a franchise to figure out on their own what a first appearance is? I guess NO ONE ever used Overstreet, huh? Just read every single book in existence yourselves?? Okie dokie, buddy.

If you had all these keys already, you’d LOVE key collector app because it gives you a CLEAR road map of when to sell them and maximize profit off of all the idiots that use it.

People make mistakes. Key Collector made a mistake and corrected it quickly. Not a big deal.

Key Collector is one of the main reasons why the comic hobby has grown and will continue to do so.

It’s an amazing resource for anyone who hasn’t ate, sh*t and slept this hobby for the last 40 years.

I mean, yeah. Even some NDAs are unenforceable.

What comics are heating up? Idc where the info comes from (Keycollector, Flipside, Chu, FB, CBSI) if you say this modern book I bought for cover or below is moving at $20 or more please share the info.

Language prohibiting lawsuits is for the morons who actually believe that and don’t sue. The only type of lawsuit restriction that is enforceable is an agreement to arbitrate in lieu of a suit as far as I know.

I have a t-shirt that says otherwise…:man_shrugging:

I don’t believe there was a point made, to be missed. I digress…:+1:

Does bold type, italics and cap lock count as ‘super’ mad?

When did the Key Collector app start attracting cult members? It’s almost like the app is infallible and any constructive criticism gets attacked.

Maybe Nick should add a slogan called “Make Speculation Great Again.”

Yeah, even in their privacy policy, they state:

"We will protect your personal information to the best of our ability with security safeguards and reputable, well-known transaction processing services but Key Collector Comics, LLC can not be held financially liable in the event of a cyber-attack or infiltration and absconding of user data."

We all know such statements hold absolutely zero value since we see companies being sued daily when data is breached. If one could actually state such a thing to protect themselves, well, there would be no lawsuits of any kind related to breach of data. I know this goes beyond the whole scope of “you can’t sue us because you agreed we aren’t liable for profit or revenue loss” but that’s the great thing about the American Justice system, everything can be challenged in a court for a judge or jury to decide (for those with a lot of time and money most of the time)…

I myself use key collector and its worthwhile to have it. I don’t pay for it but just use the free features. I don’t understand why some are so against it. It’s just another tool for the savvy who use all available resources. Sure they make mistakes like we all do. Yes, some of the books they add are head scratchers for sure but it’s useful in my collecting and selling.
