The whole thing is a mess. I lucked into one of these without having to stress, so I’m good on the set. But, If I end up with doubles of one or the other, I’d be down to trade. I also found a 1st Print Eniac #1 in the counter display at cover last month. My store is a good pusher and knows how to keep me coming back lol.
If you sign up for a comic, and receive the comic you signed up for, what’s the big deal? That sounds like a contract that both parties held up to.
If you didn’t sign up for the gimmick, and you didn’t get the gimmick, you shouldn’t be upset if you don’t get the gimmick that you didn’t sign up for. M2c.
Nah, you’re completely wrong on this one. I ordered it thinking I’d get the whole story not half the story. I mean it was described as a one shot not two shot. That isn’t them living up to their end. At the very least they should have let people know that the book you can only buy one of is only half the story. That if you wanted the whole story you’d have to track down the other copy.
I believe the story in each respective book is a whole story within itself. It’s just happens to be written from one perspective of the story. The other perspective, in of itself, is also its own story, told from a different perspective. Every story has different perspectives.
That’s correct. The Aggressive version, which I have, is told through the eyes of a billionaire vigilante. The Passive version, I think, is from the perspective of the Russian dude he’s going after.
I’m really, really upset with myself for not buying that darned Miles Morales Annual Variant. I knew…just absolutely knew that would be a good book to preorder (even if at an inflated price) and didn’t pull the trigger. The fact that I actually really like Amulet (given his home of origin), the cover, artist, look, etc further made me want it and yet I still didn’t make the move.
Grrrrr, I usually can feel ok even if I miss a book…but this was all on me and I’m irritated with myself lol.
If there wasn’t a second unannounced book it would be the whole story. The fact that there’s another from another’s perspective makes it half the story. This isn’t up for debate. It’s quite clear that you’re getting half the story if there two books with different content. Christ a flip book wouldn’t been the the thing to do.
Each respective book is telling its own, whole story.
If I write a screenplay for A New Hope, and tell it from the perspective of Palpatine, is Star Wars ep.4 now an incomplete story? No, it is still its own story.
They told you to pre-order the Final Five and you’d get a bonus book. This is the bonus book. If you’re getting into Bad Idea books and not expecting gimmicks at this point, I just don’t know what to tell you.
I’m not going to argue the point, I’m much to stoned to do so. Lol. I get what you’re saying but if it’s from another’s perspective it’s part of the story nonetheless. I’m only upset because I’ve enjoyed everything they’ve put out and now I’m going to have to pay inflated prices to read and complete the set. It’s why I spend so much on preorders every month to avoid paying the huge markup. I suppose I’ll have to figure it out when I get mine from TFAW.
