Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

1 per store… haven’t found out what’s in the guts yet
But that price sounds about right for a hot book that’s 1 per store especially on the secondary market right out the gate.

People are stupid for paying that much. 1 per store books never amount to anything

Look at how many past and present sales there are for Captain Marvel 25 (Juann Cabal Stormbreakers). There’s no way that is a one per store book. I think that “one per store” really means that each store will receive “at least one per store.”

However you justify it’s still labeled as a 1 per store. And Captain Marvel print runs are way bigger than Stray Dogs. I get what your tryna say but I dont think it applies in this case.

Sorry, I thought you were talking about a Marvel book because the conversation was on Multitude previously. I think this is strictly a Marvel issue with “limited one per store” prints.

The extras ended up in the last round of Walmart multi packs. I found one. I also already had two…picked up from separate stores.

Curious, what is the deal with the Captain Marvel, besides the supposed rarity ? IMO, not a fan of the cover art and prices are not that high. Am I missing something ? Is the story a thing (sorry dont have the book) ?

Used as an illustration that not all one per store variants do well in the secondary market.

Yeah I’ve found I can sell them pretty easily, but for a fair price, nothing crazy. After a few days prices usually drop significantly….usually….

In Captain Marvel #25, Brigid is finally worthy of Mjolnir. It’s the first time we see her gain the powers of the God of Thunder.

But my point was just that “one per store” doesn’t really mean that. As @D-Rog mentioned, all of the extra prints are in the walmart packs, so it is likely “at least one per store” meaning a store could get several copies or the extras are distributed in another manner. We haven’t been able to determine print run numbers for a few years, and I suspect the print run is probably much higher than it may seem on any books (1:10, 1:25, 1:50, “one per store,” etc.).

I worked at a store for a long time and we NEVER got more than one of the one per store, unless it was a damaged replacement. They leftovers for the damaged replacements end up in the Wal-mart packs. There are close to one per store printed.

Thank you for that, restores my confidence

I’m happy to say that I finally saw some Marvel and DC Walmart packs show up in my local wallyworlds up here in the Great White North. Keep your eyes open, fellow Canucks. :beers::maple_leaf:

The ones I saw were untouched, and just sitting there. Nothing jumped out to me, so I spent my cash on NFL blaster boxes. I did well on these last year, and this year’s draft class looks stellar, and I should be able to move those blasters for double my money in a few months…Just Win, Baby…20☠️21

Was it the latest packs (HR6 for example)?
