Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

One of the few times I got lucky with buying a raw copy that did end up receiving a 9.8. Same with the Monsters Unleashed #3 Lee variant of Elsa.

I try to see both sides of any argument when it comes to this stuff, but this isn’t one of them.
Bloodstone #1 is the book.

Yeah, with the MCU, it’s getting tougher. I did get a CGC 9.6 of Bloodstone last year for about $90. But I can think of so many books where I wanted a copy only to see news come out as I was looking for one. First appearance of Jessica Drew for example…I haven’t been able to find a good copy for a long time because rumors doubled the prices. I had been patient on it, but was actively looking right before the rumors.

Don’t fall into the FOMO lol.

Same. And then you have to make the decision… do I believe enough in this to pay the elevated price, or do I let it go and concentrate on something that hasn’t blown up yet? Happens often.

Alana, haven’t seen any spec from you in quite a while. You got anything up your sleeve? Always look forward to your prognostication.

Sure
Weird Wonder Tales #19 1st Doctor Druid
If they do a Brit team he would make sense also a very rare book never many for sale. He does have a pre marvel atlas appearance named as dr droom but the Marvel book he’s named Doctor Druid and it isn’t a super old never listed for sale book.

Cable 2008 #21 1st adult Hope Summers
I’m glad to see Hope Summers is getting some love, the messiah complex is one of my all time favorite storylines in comics. This book is just as key as X-men #205 but hasn’t quite made its way around the spec sites and YouTube yet.

Avengers Academy #21 first full Ava White Tiger and cover, book is getting hard to find. Also crazy spec that the Mayans in black panther 2 deal with white tiger and a female white tiger fighting with or against a female black panther just starts to make sense.

Avengers Forever #1 2021 look closely at cover A😉

People are getting this for the cover appearance? :grimacing:

this is her big book, people debate the whole cameo/2nd cameo/full thing. but when its all said and done this will be to her what uf4 1:25 is to miles

It’s first cover appearance and first in costume even though it’s only on the cover it’s also the original low printed later printing book that was the first to take off. Most later printings people buy new every month is because they don’t want to miss out on a book like this again. And cameo + cover usually beats out first full + cover for being the book.

I own the book but I passed on it when it was cover price, when it was $15, When it was $150, $400, $700, $900. Bought it so I could feel like I don’t need to chase later printings anymore.:joy:

Whaaaat. Whyyyy??? I am comfused. :joy:

i bought a 9.6 cgc older label for 700. its probably pressable. with these prices i dont regret it

I see more hype for baby Hope Summers, interesting idea to spec on when she got older tho!

I think with mutant first appearances it’s when their powers manifest usually as a teenager that’s the important book. Although didn’t she display her powers as a baby? I mean look at baby Cable in UXM201 it goes for a premium but nothing compared to NM87. The few cheap copies on eBay sold today and I can almost guarantee it was members here. It’s a book I’ve been stockpiling for awhile and I’ve only seen one newsstand copy.

I’m glad I picked up the Bartel variant for cover

I picked up the 1:50 which is a virgin cover without the yellow borders of cover A

All issues of son of Kal-el are selling well.

I regretted not getting the Cover B of issue 2. That was a wholesome super family cover.
