Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Yup, buy low, sell high.!

The stack my LCS had are gone :stuck_out_tongue:

Hopefully long enough for me to sell my copies when they arrive.

I saw a bunch were posted and figured the market was flooding, but posted 2 on eBay tonight for $50 each to test the water. Didn’t last an hour. I’ll put up a couple more I found at the LCS tomorrow as long as the piranhas are swarming.

SIKTC #1 LCSD foil is now a $30 book. I had one buyer getting every copy at $17-20 I put up. Raised my price to $29 on my latest batch. He asked if I would still take $17-20. I said I can’t as the pickings are getting slim.

Nice, I bought 2 for under cover from TFAW as I missed out on the original #1 issues, figured it was only a matter of time before they started going up as well.

People have probably already seen this but X-men 282 has doubled in price in a week or so. I was buying raws in the $10-$15 range for months and now there isn’t a listing below $30. Slabbed 9.8 are at about $500 now.

That’s the first Bishop, right?

@ToddW Yes

People speccing on bishop cause he’s a decently popular X-Men but also because Kang is supposed to show up and he’s a time traveler People think Bishop will tie into that because he’s a time traveler…even though they don’t really have anything to do with each other and I don’t think they’ve ever even interacted lol

I think technically it’s the 7th print.

Anyone notice what Stray Dogs #1 is doing? It has been steadily creeping up with the Acetate selling in the $30 range and #1 movie poster cover hitting $16. Overall all covers are selling for above cover price.

And just like that I listed my Stray Dogs 1 Acetate Variant for $35 plus shipping and it sold in about an hour.

sounds like it crept up to the $35 range in a hurry.
God of war is on fire too. I feel bad because I walked by stacks of those comics last week, smh. Gonna see if I can hunt them down, pre-ordered #2

It probably also has to do with the fact that Marvel will want a strong, black character, and there are not a long list of them, historically, that Disney could utilize, let alone in the mutants line (X-men building up). Bishop is cooler than Cable, in my opinion.

Why is marvel going to want a strong black male lead for X-Men?

@ToddW He didnt say “lead” he said character. Another team/movie with diversity will help box office. Adding Bishop sooner than later can pull eyes more eyes on it.

Strong as in acting skills or physically strong though? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I think the inclusion of different races, gender, religions, etc is great. It’s just there are so many great X-Men characters but Bishop isn’t one of them. Storm on the other hand is another story. Now that I’m thinking about it there aren’t a ton of black X-Men characters to begin with.

The new XMen are a very diverse team, always have been since GSX1. It’s kinda their schtick. :heavy_multiplication_x:
