Absolutely agree with you on that book/your point.
More and more, when it comes to selling items at shows (not that I have a ton of experience), it’s the items that just have cool covers and characters that people love that seem to move for me. Not the spec type stuff. Of course, the varied established keys are always going to be good books, but I feel like if I display books that feature Venom, Harley, Horror type stuff, or just eye catching covers they tend to move.
That Gleason Amazing Spiderman #55 is a perfect example. Doesn’t matter what printing, if I price it even remotely fairly I can sell as many copies as I bring.
Picked up my pre-ordered copy from the LCS…it is soooooo cool. They didn’t order any shelf copies. They don’t order variants for the shelf. I really need to tip the owner off on what variants are worth having a few extra copies.
I’m not sure I want to take a chance on midtown shipping me spine ticks. But thanks.
If Dark Dominion has a few extra I might order from him as I know they’ll be top notch…
I have zero faith in this book. I got another copy for cover 15 mins ago from my lcs who came thru hard for me this week. Bout to list it this evening.
I’ve gotten books where half the cover was folded over. Granted it doesn’t happen often…but if I want 9.8 mailed to me there’s only a few online places I’m hedging my bets.
