Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

There’s an article on CNN from yesterday suggesting that Wall Street is making many of these purchases; not our internal hobbyists. Not sure how accurate anything is these days.
But it’s a topic that has been mentioned before with what has been going on and some of the record insane prices - could be at least somewhat true.

Hey Bill can you find a link for that

It specifically mentions sports cards, but a little deduction can lead to other card types (and comics)

Good read. Thanks @Bill

People outside the hobby or very new to it are for sure buying those. None of us in here would pay those prices. I mean would you of ever referred to any comic related cards as a “rookie” card?!

The “rookie card” is the dead giveaway it’s from outside sources.

You already do

Poyo actually sells very few comics so he cannot be accused of dumping anything. Both of our eBay accounts are out there so people can see what we are selling. Pump and dump would be very obvious of people wanted to look into it.

They probably also don’t know just how abundant copies of X-Force 1 there are. Its definitely falling down in price cause there’s so many copies out there

Same thing happened din the 90’s…

Back to the dollar bins.

MMm… Hmm… you got some facts to back up such claims? Don’t be a turd and accuse others of things they don’t do.

Didn’t a ton of those Milestone comics that came polybagged also come with trading cards? I know I got a static 1 that was bagged and had 2 mini posters and a trading card. Maybe those might heat up with Milestone coming back and characters like Static and Icon getting movies I think

Sold my series 1 hologram set for $250 shipped.

Sold several other random cards for $9-$20 shipped.

So far around $350 in sales of marvel universe cards the past few days…not bad for something sitting in my basement collecting dust…

Now’s the time to definitely sell these.

I wish I’d kept mine.

If anybody can remind me where I put my sets over 25 years ago, I’d appreciate it.

Does anyone remember Marvel Impel cards that were in clear plastic wraps? I believe they were marketed to be handed out as Halloween treats. They had blue borders. They also had Universal Monsters packs in red borders too. Do these fall in that same category of price range? I have a lot. I’ll post pics if I can find them amongst my things. I know Marvel would have cards that would serve as checklists for the comics they had out at the time. I have a lot of them too somewhere.

Ha ha…Good insults very original…did I hit a sore spot?

Or perhaps you can be a productive forum member and stop trolling!? Just a thought as accusing someone of pumping and dumping without proof makes you look like an ass.

I sold my lotus, moxes, twister, set of Arabians all my mtg even the commons and uncommons never happier my lotus is now a X-men 1 and tales of suspense 39. They will eventually just reprint the lotus or make a better version to get around their reprint clause they have already broken plenty of times at wizards of the coast. The fakes got to good in mtg for me to want to have very large amount of money parked there as an “investment”. They also overstep with their constant rule changes and bannings destroy the values of some of the best cards to ever come out in the last 15 years.
