Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 1)

Crazy thing is before this “boom” I wanted these cards for pure nostalgia purposes. My son is 10(the age I started collecting these cards) I have some spidey cards by Bagley. But these hit the feels buying packs everyday. Not eating lunch to by cards after school. So many memories. But now… shiiiiiit unless I find someone not on social media garage sale flea market I’ll wait for the dip in prices. LoL.

Damn. I need to dig mine out.

These cards certainly are not rare. Once people see the prices they are going for the market will get flooded. If you want them wait, they will come down a lot.

I thought they were cool back in the 90s… then I quickly realized how much money I wasted on them to just sit in a binder and never get looked at. Just pictures on cardboard cutouts… I got rid of all of them soon after… I wouldn’t spend 2 cents on them… and I certainly wouldn’t spend what people are now paying for them. If you got, sell and never look back…

I collected the crap out of those…until Magic the Gathering came out. I could either spend money on cards with art to put into a binder, or spend on card with art to play a great game with. No brainer for me.

Plus no matter what these become worth my Black Lotus will certainly be worth more LOL.

I did the same thing with all my cards. I kept a few just b/c I liked them or just thought they were neat. Found these prism Surfer cards that had been sitting in a drawer for years. Found a cool Spectre and Wrightson hologram cards too but it was tough to get a pic of those.

You know if MU cards are all the rave now…x-force is soon to follow!

Unfortunately my x-force #1 card isn’t Deadpool…

Noooooooooooooooo

My mom and uncle said they recall doing this to Mickey Mantle’s (and yes, his rookie card) and many other now “valuable” rookies from the 50s…

I bit the bullet and bought the cover B on release day for like $18 because it wasn’t available locally. I like AH covers so this drew lots of comparisons for me. Gives me Catwoman 51, GI Joe 2, Power Girl 2, etc… vibes.

collectors have been chasing the NS X-Men 1s
