Avengers Academy is a good book with a lot of firsts
That’s one I’ve been stockpiling for some time. It has quite a few first appearances as well. I still haven’t tracked down a newsstand edition either.
Avengers Arena #1 has a few including Cullen Bloodstone and Death Locket.
Reptil looks like a Malibu character I wouldn’t put 89 cents towards a copy let alone $50-$90 people asking
Spot on assessment. I think he looks fun, but not a spec-worthy character to me.
Reptil was a regular character on Super Hero Squad TV show! Already been on TV, etc, so…ehhh.
I’d think this was a really cool character if I was maybe 8 again…
Next time I see a book starting to move I’ll keep it to myself.
No! Please share the spec ideas. I need all the help I can get.
@ToddW It’s great spec buddy. Dollar bin book that is selling. I appreciate all the info I can get!
Please don’t take criticism of the character as criticism of your bringing it up. All kinds of things sell all the time that don’t speak to all of us… if the market is buying, it’s good to hear about it.
Key Collector added Captain America #1 2011 Newsstand Photo Movie Cover to their list. Due to a CGC signing by Chris Evans. One newsstand is up for auction. Directs went from $10-20 to $40-350. If you got em sell em. A photo so you know what you’re looking for.
I’ve seen another different issue with Evans on the cover is selling well. Forgot what issue it is though.
My LCS has a couple of these, going on the weekend to pick some up if they still have them
Twin Cities Comics is soing the Chris Evans signing. I think they where charging $250 or $275 for the singing. A little to high for my taste lol.
I bet they had to pay him handsomely just to show up…
Finally!! Captain America #6 First Winter Soldier Newsstand just sold for $410. Real nice raw copy. It’s nice to see it get some love. Disclaimer I do have a graded copy for sale. I’m not trying to pump it but have been keeping track of it for years.
Key Collector is also reporting that the Ultimate Fallout 4 CGC 9.8 Newsstand that a board member sold on eBay for $8000 was bought by Dinesh of Bad Idea and he recently sold it for $25,000. I remember the board member said it was someone in the comics and movie business. So it’s plausible. When I sold my AF15 Newsstand it was to someone in the business as well.
Ill never get the hype about newsstand versions. But if people want to pay more for them, more power to them.
People are looking for the rarest edition nowadays and those fit the bill. It’s why I’ve been stockpiling and making record breaking sales.
I used to think that way myself. Thought it was a bit peculiar to pay so much more for Newsstands. But then Deadppol Impel cards hit the market for uber amounts of money and my old “peculiar” suddenly seemed quite ok.
