Yes, and I figure they already made their money on it now I’ll pay less than I would have for new copies if the opportunity strikes. So buying these books second hand now means I’m Not supporting them.
But it is a book with the second appearance of spider-Gwen and she is in the cover. And it features some other popular female characters that are eventually a team together for the first time. Again, on the cover.
And it’s a nice cover! I like it. Collect what you like first, right? Can’t go wrong. I’m thinking it has potential if/when these characters debut together in a film. But buy cheap…I agree, likely will spike temporarily only because it appeared on a list….then it’ll be back to $10 or less again.

That’s because it sucks as a B&W. The color cover pops so much more….but don’t worry they’ll hype it next and then it’ll spike be asked people realize it’s scarcer and they have to have it be only because of that.
I tried to grab the B&W cheap here and there…l.but always outbid. But I’ll only grab it if it’s cheap.

It would not surprise me if certain parties have stocked up on this and are now looking to cash in. However, some of us have legit believed in this book for a while as well. I have felt for a long time that someday, people were going to start noticing this issue, and specifically this cover.
Anyone remember how many years The Comic Bug was selling their Edge of Spider-Verse #2 variants for $20/$30?

Also, just for the record. I don’t normally rag on other sites, it’s not my style. What I do express from time to time is the things they post or say in regards to comics. I never make it personal, I try to attack the idea, not the person or any person in general (except ComicTom but even then I’m attacking his tactics, not him directly, I don’t know him, he might be a cool person but judging from his videos, he doesn’t come off as the type I’d hang with personally or even want to be friends with, sorry Tom, if you read this site, even you are a little too nerdy and quirky for me). I don’t know Nick personally or whoever else runs Key Collector, it’s not personal. It’s me expressing my opinion on the subject matter that normally gets brought up here by members on the forums. If you think that Comicxposure book is “super-key and flying under the radar”… just because Key Collector says so, so be it. I’m not buying it or how they present it in their app or website and that’s my opinion as a member here, not a representative of CHU. I think we’re entitled to speak our minds as regular folks and members do here. This is a community where I feel even as someone who’s more than just a forum member should be allowed to speak freely as such. I’m a moderator/admin but I’m also a member too. If you feel I’m ragging on Key or any other site, so be it, that’s on you misinterpreting the words on a screen.
I rarely ever call books I spec on “key” myself. I’m not an authority of the matter. What I do mostly is talk about new books and mostly pre-orders. Some I spec on, some I express I hope is just a freaking good read. Some I pick based on just the cover art alone. I try to play it up front and honest. I think I’ve always been transparent with what I"m selling as well. Probably 95% of the books being talked about as heating up I’m not even selling nor do I even own and when I do, I’m usually honest by mentioning how many copies I’m sitting on and either plan to sell or not.
Do other sites pump and dump, absolutely. Do they all pump and dump? Absolutely not. It’s happening whether you like it or not. There’s always some bad apples in the orchard.

Yeah, 6 years ago most of us already likely considered this book “semi-key” I suppose since it’s Spider-Gwen’s second appearance along with the Spider-Verse storyline they already made a movie about…
Like I said, ASM #9 (regular cover) was already selling for $20+ and has been for years… why the sudden push for a shitty comicxposure store variant? When this came out, Comicxposure was the enemy so nobody gave a shit, now they do suddenly? Meh… I’ll pass. I already got plenty of the regular cover.
Comicxposure may suck but Gwen on the cover = this was going to get attention at some point.
Not her first cover appearance though…
