Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

Took me 4 attempts to put in an order online through comic hub…it’s a local LCS that I pick up books from.

Each time it rejected me as I submitted the order and “logged me out”. I’m sure I’ll have 4 transactions for $3.99 on my credit statement now.

I had actually pre-ordered a copy. Just want an extra for the PC should I decide to sell.

Thanks @EricR , but I do not understand the current comic market…what-so-ever

Random Dan Mora covers, Batman Long Halloween Last Halloween books are going up in value, random tpb’s are going up in value, TMNT books are going up in value, etc.

I thought the market was in a downward trajectory. Economy is crap. People are selling collections. But yet, people are blowing money on these books

Seriously, I just dont get it…theres no logic

Maybe Im one foot already out of speculating/collecting…

TPBs once they go out of print go for good money. It’s random, but setting up an eBay search and checking it periodically has helped me identify some books before heading my LcS

Its strange, because people can just buy the single issues for much less.

Yeah, or go to their library read on their library app. I don’t get it, but I’ll gladly take their money. There are some Marvel Star Wars Legends Epic Collections that do real well. Think The Menace Revealed Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 in particular still do pretty well

How do you all find hot books via ebay? This group is so damn awesome at sharing that info. For me, I tend to stumble upon the hot books, and it makes me think I’m missing a ton.

For example, Last Halloween 2. That’s up to $30-40, and I had no idea. Do you just scour eBay recent sales, or is there a smarter way to do it?

I set up a search for recently sold modern books, recently sold Star Wars books, and something similar for TPBs that include phrases like “OOP”

My LCS had a Red Hood and the Outlaws TPB on the shelf. I got excited. Then I checked eBay and is not one in demand. New 52 drek, apparently. Dang, I was thinking I might have finally found something hot. Picked up the last two copies of the TMNT April/Casey Jones issue so my fingers are crossed on this one.

i’m perplexed too. And none of them are Marvel lol

So I was finally able to pick up my pull box from my LCS and read Absolute Batman 11… is this the first full appearance of Absolute Joker? It sure feels like it.

Another one to look for is Mr. Terrific: Year One #1 Cover A $25-$33, Gerards variant cover is $30-$40 and Cover B for $30.

Dc with all the low key spec wins.

Regarding Sonic comics, Sonic #81 cover C 1:15 is doing well. Apparently a first appearance.

Keep an eye on this series, not exactly heating up, but it’s room temperature right now. lol

That TMNT 11C book noted above is creeping upwards. I sold mine for $25, and the listed ones (not very many) are in the $30-35 range. Might be a good time to list yours for $50 and see if someone bites.

Event Horizon #1 Ward and Love covers 15-20ish, only a few sales, but keep a eye peeled. Midtown has them still limit 1.

Chicken little the sky is falling!

It was a decent read, a little slow but decent. I loved the movie so I’m in for the long haul on the comic.

Sold 8 books over the weekend. Several Ice Cream Man issues. IDW GI Joe. Robins. TMNT 11C.

IDW GI Joe and early Ice Cream Man issues just seem to always sell. Not big dollars, but if you can find them cheap, they almost always sell.

Do you mean the mini series “Robins” from a few years ago?
