talkied to a guy a couple weeks ago who’s been collecting them and he wants A covers of all Transformers but I think the other variants will follow.
godzilla has been a solid property. i’ve seen numerous older series like the old Dark Horse books priced at $10-15 at shows as well as the earlier IDW books.
I always disliked when other writers or speculators talk down on books they didn’t themselves pick or get a chance to grab themselves… too much bias out there!
Topher does that a lot on his lists. Will pick fights/arguments with anyone he disagrees with lol. It’s quite childish and why I don’t really care for those lists. Kudos to all the knowledge here, you guys are great.
He and I got into it about whether DieDieDie #14 was the first Grogu, even though it was a satire and image not authorized by Disney.
We also get into it about whether Transformers the Movie #1 or the UK graphic novel was the first appearance of Arcee and several other popular characters…the comic came out in the US in September, while the UK graphic novel was a “winter special” that same year…and was advertised as coming out in December in the UK comics.
I’m not sure what more evidence you need to prove the comic pre-dates the graphic novel…
Yeah, that is one of the reasons I rarely visit that site anymore. There is more than just that, but I soured on it a while ago. I will take a look at their top ten to see if it matches any other hot lists out there but that is really it. I haven’t commented or read many if any other articles there in many months. They are pretty good at driving away users than trying to keep them.
I look at the top 10 list to see if there’s any books I have that may be worth listing. Like Web 36 (sold, btw).
But it’s very rare that a book on the list is one that will be available at my LcS. A lot of the hot books are ones we already identified here, were hot at one time in the recent past and likely not in bins, or ratio variants my shops don’t qualify for or thank you’s they’ve marked up on the day of release.
This is a bit of an outlier for Nightwing books. I noticed earlier this week that there were no copies of issue 105 cover A on eBay or Mercari below $25…or Midtown/MCS. I think I saw a copy had sold a few weeks back for $15 or so.
Anyway, grabbed a few copies. Listed one today at $15 and it sold within the hour.
It seems the $25 copy accepted a best offer for $10
It’s an interesting one shot story that it written/drawn/told through the eyes of Nightwing.
Took a chance and ordered 3 Nightwing…taking forever to ship across the country. Watched it climb to $40, the drop to $20 in that time…by the time it arrives pumpkin spice will be out, and I’ll be making no profit…bah!
I have more on the way but I think I’ll be stashing at least one for the future. Once the current flood dries up, I can see this still being sought after a year from now. It wasn’t all that plentiful before/on the day it dropped.
