This comic book was sent as a one-per-store cover to retailers… but not comic retailers, game shops! It is meant to be used as a prize for winning the first official MTG: Spider-Man tournament. The promo was intended for use at a special event scheduled for November.
I really like this cover. I’m hoping there will be some give away at NYCC like last year.

I still can’t believe how DC just owns the big two market for us right now. Marvel was IT for what… a decade? Decades?
This past month, which was my best sales month ever, was all DC and Indy.

And, with me being a much bigger Indy and DC fan than I am of Marvel, I couldn’t love it more. Instead of us selling spec on the possibility of any bit character showing up in the MCU, I feel like we’re now selling good stories, good art, and books that people just want to own.

DC has been 67% of my sales the last month. 50% since beginning of summer.
Marvel has been under 15%, consistently. Marvel for me has pretty much been Mr & Mrs X or a book featured on the top 10 list any particular week.
The numbers are probably more skewed in DC vs Marvel if I’m looking at $$$ totals.
Total books the last month:
DC = 28
Marvel = 6
Indy/Other = 8
Going Back to June:
DC = 41
Marvel = 10
Indy/Other = 28
I would buy a couple for spec, but that sounds more like a Marvel/Disney thing. Maybe we could finally see the slave bikini again…on Han Solo.
I talked a long time to Szerdy recently. He told me he prefers working for DC because they will let him take more liberties with character appearance.
Statistically I’d like to see it broken down even further. Nightwing > Indy books > Marvel > the rest of DC. Only Mark Spears may be > Nightwing.
