SOLD out… Better than paying $80 (AVG) for just NM #1 1st print. “not all comics in this SALE will be individually bagged and boarded.” Good Lord…
Given not all book are bag n boarded, I am suspecting that all the ABS Bat #1 will be Very Fine or Better, while rest of the later prints are NM while rest 1st Print are probably VF or better. These days it’s hard to sell VF copies are super modern.
My last copy has been sitting at $20 for over a month.
Sold it to someone in Canada for $26 shipped within 2 or 3 days.
I’d end the listing and then relist it as “sell similar”. That freshens it up and will get you more visibility. I’ve been surprised at how often I do this and then it sells pretty quickly.
Thanks for the tip on Conan. I found a couple yesterday and already sold one.
I think theres a couple of those Titan conans that go for decent $$$.
Its the only title i regularly read and just curiously looked one day and was kinda in shock at what i saw.
(Probably because the title is written so well and de la Torres art is excellent). Reminiscent of J. Buscema
Yeah, I think the first several issues are doing well.
I think at this point when I find Absolute Batman 1st prints Cover A under issue 10, I am buying, AB #2 is starting to move in a very positive direction
Yea, I admit it will be a while before these dollar bin fodder books find their rightful place. ![]()
These are not rare, but they are being hordes, which dwindles supply and demand is still strong today.
So that has been my tactic as well for the past month. However the challenge has been finding them. I’ve been more successful finding $50+ Dan Mora books by a large volume….
I think the question is whether any of the subsequent printings will take off…the fact that DC has not take a break from reprinting any of these is hurting speculation…you’d think the “final” print would be most sought after…but it never ends….
So for now maybe keep an eye on 2nd prints…maybe some will give up and start hording those….
I have a 2nd print of AB #1 so I have been keeping an eye on that one at least, it seems consistent around the $20 mark. I’ve been using it as a touchstone on when to start really focusing on 2nd prints higher up the run. If it starts to spike, time to start digging for 2nd prints up the run, or so my theory goes.
Eventually completionists will enter the fray…maybe driving up some value…I’m just not sure that will be enough of a demand…it’ll be hit or miss…
Makes better financial sense to react to those isolated cases than try to predict without any data to go off of.
Watch items for sure…
I don’t know how Felix Art Absolute Batman Annual just sold out in less than 1 minute at $80 with 1000 copies, but it did. ![]()
No limits… someone bought a bunch and gonna jack the prices up. Comic Mint liked doing this in the past.
I fumbled around typing in the link because it would not work or copy/paste.
But yeah…f’d up.
Waiting to hear the story on this failure.
yep… I’m sure it was a vendor or two… one of the usual suspects like comic mint
I’ll just keep riding the gravy train like Mora, Spears, Geiger, this Felix, until it’s no longer profitable.
Until then, … keep it goin’
That’s also the reason I was turned away from the conventions. Last NYCC I attended, I couldn’t land any Exclusives from IDW, Image, etc. I would be at their booths first thing before any lines at times (sometimes I even got in earlier with Press Badge) and they’d be like, sold out. I’m like, convention floor just opened. Their response, oh, vendors have access and they all bought them. So you walk over to that vendor and they’re reselling them at double the cost.
The conventions should ban all Sales until after the floor opens to the actual people there to buy things, not open to zero limits to greedy effing comic book shops with early access to the floor and publishers.
100% agree.
For years, I used NYCC exclusives and Preview night SDCC exclusives to fund the trip.
It was not so difficult going from one publisher, to the next, to the next, and on and on until I had a nice stack.
Now? - fuggetaboutit. And it’s why I don’t even bother anymore. It’s just savages before, during and after, pushing, shoving, dealers, scamming to get in early, etc… I’m too old to play that game and gave up a few years ago stacking up on them. I try to find some oddballs no one is seeing or not advertised well and I’ll still hit those up
Hate the players, not the game.
It only works because crazy buyers can’t control their urges. Don’t pay aftermarket prices. Move on.
