Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

Oh, I know. I don’t buy from the comic shops that only had to walk over, buy them all up and then resell at their booths at markup prices… But you know, traveling thousand plus miles to attend a show and try to grab a few exclusives I wanted (not even to sell) and miss out completely due to this flawed process is a turn off. I probably won’t ever go to another comic convention again if this is the game…

i got money on @Anthony
i hear he sold a bunch of pics and used that money

It was 1 per order

There’s no way they sold 1000 in one minute on their platform. I’d seriously consider that there wasn’t 1000 in the database to purchase when the sale started. I’m sure most were already accounted for then.

Let’s be honest…@anthony wasn’t letting you out of the basement anyway…and if he did you’d just be part of his cosplay outfit tied to a leash.

Yeah, no idea the particulars. There are some comp copies to Spicer and others, not sure if that’s part of the 1000 or above. Just can attest to there being a limit when checking out.

He did make me stand in lines for him…

I was too busy being under appreciated at work I forgot all about it.

You got through? It didn’t say limit 1 anywhere that I saw.

Need a CHU-bot to get us copies for future exclusives.

We’ll call it CHU-BOT-Cah. Get on that @agentpoyo . Make yourself useful around here.

Yes. It didn’t say limit one in the listing either, but I tried up’ing the number to 2 in my cart and it gave me the “no more than 1 can be in cart” message.

I’ll start being useful again when I get my new bucket I’ve been asking for for the past 6 years… I’m officially on strike now!

Bucket… bucket… bucket… !!! :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist: :fist:

Usually tactics like that end up with getting items “stolen” from your cart before you hit submit.

I wonder is 1000 carts were holding copies “hostage”, and thus showing it as “sold out” within the first minute.

80 dollars is crazy

People on Felix’s IG post are complaining saying it was in their carts and then sold out before checking out.

Honestly though… Absolute Batman is the most popular thing in comics in several years and DWJ is one of the most popular creators at the moment. It’s plausible there were 1000 people that bought it just now.

It sure is crazy.
I was a little “ticked” when I clicked on “purchase” at 80.
I kinda figured ok - this is the last time and at this price the gravy train has probably left
But maybe not … maybe not.

he will ask 100 for issue 15

The AB Annual started with a maximum of 900 for sale (possibly less with comps for the artists) due to a signing at Cape & Cowl last week where they sold 100.

I had no luck, so call me sour grapes here, but I did roll my eyes at the $80 price tag. Also laughed at the newsletter with direct link showing up 3 minutes after sellout.

I had one in my cart right at 9am PST sharp, but when I clicked the button to check out, it said they were gone. This was before it reached 9:01. 1000 is a lot of comics.
