My copy of 114 sold yesterday for $15 (the middle listing above) that caused me to look at this book to see what’s going on.
Appears to finally be taking off…always thought this one in particular was flying under the radar as (of all the Mora Nightwings) has probably been the hardest one for me to find of the issues that haven’t been selling. Plus it’s a black cover and prone to ticks and scuffs.
I’m expecting the others slow to the party will eventually follow…
Btw, I feel like this book is just getting started with that all black cover…if you feel the FOMO to jump in and sell now, that is your choice…but it would not surprise me in The least if this book finds itself north of $100 like several others have in this run now that it has momentum.
The “hot” mora covers seem to have cooled off a bit from their highs, now the collectors are shifting to his other covers in this run, it would appear.
I have one copy remaining, and holding it back. Too much potential energy on this one.
My opinion is this is a better cover than 106, and may be harder to find (from my experience).
I have a bunch, or at least had a bunch of the 114s. I sold at least two, but I should have 2 or 3 which I haven’t listed because I agree that it’s been undervalued and overlooked considering the black cover. I’ll need to look through my Mora box (yes, I have a Mora box now lol…)
The more I visit new shops looking for these books, the more I’m realizing how tough the Mora covers are to find. We’ve been lucky with these and the beefys but I think long term the demand will grow and supply will dry up quickly.
Once key collector mentions the Mora and beefcake sales, that cat will be out of the bag.
A) the owner (nor his cronies) have copies to flip.
B) there are not enough sales or buzz to show up on their radar.
Ironically I’ve found a few videos (randomly) where some people have been talking up Mora covers…but they don’t get many views/not influential enough to be heard.
The whole thing is bizarre to me that there are so many copies of these out there, and they sell for factors more than the weekly fomo book consistently…but no one is picking up on it…
I’m not complaining as it just means we all benefit here…I think this is a small enough community here we tend not to sway/flood the market in any way that’s measurable…(I.e. we’re not in competition with each other given the few copies we find and the demand that’s out there).
I don’t want to derail this thread for too long about this, BUT, is that the 1st of Reed or Reed as The Maker? There seems to be options. Ultimate FF #1, Ultimate Fallout #4 (I don’t remember this), Ultimate Comics: Ultimates #2 (named). I already own UF4 so I’m covered there.
Might just pick up a copy of the others just to have
I did just pick up a copy of Ultimate FF #9 which looks to be his 1st cover
He doesn’t technically become the maker until ultimate comics ultimates #1 when he enters the mind aging chamber. Most people seem to think it’s uf4 when he puts on the helmet
Pumpkin Spicy Nightwing had an auction that went for $145 that was so far above any other sold, it either had the most naive bidders ever or had some performative shilling. However, it’s still a book that has legit demand. I just sold one for $90.
