Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

No 2nd print, no store covers, only on cover of A. Spec wise it’s a nice set up.

Fine, fine, ya’ll convinced me. I’ll go looking for some issue 6 at my shops.

I’ve been pretty lucky finding Uncanny X-men 274s at LCSs and shows lately for $1 to cover price. Got a little small stash of these, love the Jim Lee cover of Rogue and they go for a nice little bit of change in a graded 9.8. Could see a nice little bump.

I got one comic from MCS once they had it graded VF, I sent it to CGC it came back 9.6.

This one is moving really well now if you can still find it.

Just grabbed 2 more copies, plus 3 copies of Incredible Hilk 6 for $20 shipped. Had a $10 coupon!

Hopefully it goes through.

I did buy a copy of that Hulk #6 on release based on recommendations here (and it was cool), but I was somewhat surprised that I completely struck out in my area finding any additional copies. Started looking well before any real talk started even. I honestly thought I’d have little issue finding at least one more. You just never know.

For those interested, two open order books for the new week on the CovrPrice Weekly Movers:

Deadpool book is no longer available at cover on eBay.

The Monsters book is by Keenspot? None available on their website either and scarce on eBay.

I had a whole discussion about the Monster book on here some time ago. Knew it was going to be a hit. Was originally on Kickstarter

Are they the self printing publisher? Becomes popular, spit out 10,000 new copies?

The Bridezilla 1st print cover of Bridezilla is still available on Mark Spears Monsters website for $22. Why would anyone pay up for the 2nd print by Keenspot. I’m preordering issue #2 with the creature… I really like that cover.

I picked up 4 copies of the A cover at a LCS yesterday. So there’s this guy there that I like to call “the stooge”, I think he’s best friends with the owner of the shop and they’ve been working together since the shop opened in the 70s. Whenever someone picks up or pre-orders multiple copies of a book he usually gives the shop owner a heads up. I’ve seen him do this on numerous occasions when I overhear him at the shop as he’s talking about other customers (in front of customers shopping).

He was at the counter cashing me out and sees that I bought 4 copies of Deadpool, cashes me out and before the cash register was even closed he takes a mad dash to the back (where the shop owner was). I mean like he beelines it like his life depended on it LOL

That’s awesome.

“Boss! Boss!! It happened again!! Someone bought 4 copies!! What do we do?! I’m scared!!!”

This is who I picture behind the counter…

It’s unbelievable how close that is to how the Stooge looks, right down to the glasses and attire. Just need to age him about 20 years and add a little gray to the hair and you got an exact match.

There’s a shop I go to in Tennessee when we’re there, and I think they’ve figured out that I buy a lot of spec books. So when I’m checking out the guy literally writes down every book I buy lol. They won’t let you buy 2 of anything, even dollar books.

yep

Anyone know why so many copies of this sold this week? Just because of Doom cover or is there something else going on?
