Modern Comics Heating Up (Those With Potential Too) (Part 2)

That books has been on a number of “hot lists” for the last couple of weeks. Doom spec related but something about the “first incursion” which frankly I don’t know a thing about.

Apparently Marvel trademarked the title “Avengers:Excursion” which made folks lose their minds.

It was #1 on another sites list and also on various trending lists, blah, blah, blah. So that’s why.

Good to see it keep heating up. I bought six or seven a while back for right around cover price each when Doom MCU rumors started. I bought only for the cover, not only because it was well done but cheap at the time. It really is a fantastic cover and a final issue, so I have a feeling the print run was fairly small for and Avengers comic. Fist “incursion”, I have to look more into that, but there were no other overs printed, so add that to it being a hot Doom cover and a final issue and this might have a little more heat coming. I won’t wait for that. Time to dig out my copies and sell a few.

In this issue Doom reveals himself as Rabum Alal. That name has been floating about the rumor mill with online “insiders” as of late.

My mistake , it looks like there are other covers including incentives… Cover A is the Doom cover though and the one most are looking for.

Remember the super hot Eye Lie Popeye Video Game Homage?

Get ready for the foil and metal covers. Not sure these will bite, or detract from the original, but a foil and metal version is coming.

These were talked about when the book came out, they are available to buy on Massive’s website

why anyone would buy these, idk…

$90??? Massive is Whatnot, and you know they are playing the spec game on their own.

Ugg… don’t make fun of me too hard on this but keep an eye on (or perhaps grab a cover price copy) of that silly Venom Wars #1 Horse variant. Not the reprint or 1:25…just the original one.

It is more simmering than heating up but it keeps selling and I can’t help but wonder if once seen on screen it may do better. Crain (like him or not) has his followers & these issues will make a nice little set as well.

Anyway, just one to check for if still cover price at your shop imo

Ok…let the beatings commence

I still ain’t buying the stripper pole horse one though!

I have sold several for $10. Picked up another one today and may go back and get another. Still have one I am holding to see what happens.

I know what you guys are going to say but have to ask anyways. Do you think it’s a good idea to hang on to some copies of this? It’s a cool looking character with a stellar design. Has a cool dog sidekick and will be taking over the series starting next issue. We don’t know how it will turn out. It could be a breakout character.

Cover 6A imo is the winner because it wasn’t heavily ordered as solicitations mentioned she’ll be taking over in issue 7. The 2nd print will be heavily ordered. 6A seems to check all the boxes for me, don’t really have any interest selling it for $15 right now as I feel it’s got potential (maybe longterm). Thoughts?

Are you showing us Canadian sales? I would not say it has popped or popping in the US…maybe percolating…

Today’s sales on 130point, can’t do anything about people undercutting

I’m holding all my copies for now. When the dust settles hopefully everyone will realize this is the book, not #7.

I think you’ll be just fine with #6

Convincing the people who follow the “pushers” is the problem though.

I think it’s more people overspending than undercutting. These aren’t new listings.

I’ve been checking listings as well here and there (not sales) and they’ve been pretty consistently listed under $10. One of those $15 sales was free shipping. So really one sale at $15 + shipping, and everything else less.

Maybe next week…

Don’t even worry about what they think. Just use your best judgement. To me, her being on the 2nd print cvr seals the deal
