If you can get around $100 sell now. As good as the show it I can’t see long-term staying power for her first.
Don’t know if I can get $100, but definitely flipping.
If you’re making money off of it, that’s a good thing! Good luck!
Ok guys, I’ve mentioned on another thread that I’ve been crushing in sales lately (for my standards anyways). Seems to me the market is back and a good time to list stuff. Been selling a lot of random stuff besides all the hot 10 weekly books. Packed up 9 packages today, and been averaging 5 or 6 sales daily lately the last week or so.
Just wanted to thank the person who brought up the Geiger Ground Zero to my attention, was mentioned in this thread. I got a message today from someone who wanted to do combine shipping on some Geiger books (Ghost Machine Rook cover, Ground Zero), Absolute Batman and a few other random stuff. So I messaged him back and said ok but he hasn’t got back to me yet. I see that I’m getting a lot of views for the Geiger stuff so I dug out my Gieger 2021 series and listed the 6 issues. In less than half an hour it was sold along with the Geiger Ground Zero to another buyer.
I don’t know if I underpriced it. Had the 4 issues of Ground Zero for $80 and the 6 issues of Geiger for $60 with best offer. Someone just snagged it up without an offer. This is a fat sale.
These Ghost Machine, Geiger books are hot hot hot! Pay attention to these and grab them when you see them. I was able to grab the Ground Zero at a con for cover price, they’re still out there.
I’m not a big Clayton Crain fan, but I am a Swamp Thing fan, and that’s a great cover that I missed.
I will say both Absolute Wonder Woman and Absolute Batman have been slow sellers for me. I have copies listed under market value and they still sit. Have sold a couple of each but nothing like Ultimate Spider-Man
DC spec stigma is still lingering. Sad, DC has been pretty damn good.
From a content perspective, DC is way above Marvel IMO. Image and Boom and Dark Horse are all better than Marvel at actual stories today, too.
Even the Ultimate Line has a lot of retread garbage. Instead of rethinking wolverine and giving him a new vibe, they just merge the character with another existing character. I swear, the House of Ideas is no longer. It’s not a house. It’s an overpriced studio apartment with smelly carpet and outdated appliances.
I don’t think marvel wants to pay the cost for writers who would be capable of that, at least overall. It won’t necessarily equate to more profit. Like the movie sequel mentality
I said this and then sold two copies of Ab Bats and one of Ab WW today.
Something I guess I’m learning about Covrprice is that while I like having sale data, and getting regular updates, it seems like sometimes they let through insane outliers that are either errors or just statistical outliers that don’t actually represent a good trend. I just checked Absolute Batman this morning and the “fair market value” shot up to $106 today from $28 yesterday.
Apparently someone sold a copy yesterday for $225! which of course pulled the average up. This will no doubt be cleaned up eventually even if it isn’t removed and just gets tamped down by overwhelming sales at the real FMV. I guess I wish the people at Covrprice would flex some real statistical skill and do things like screen obvious outliers until there is more than one within some tolerance.
Just a reminder I suppose that FMV estimates are not gospel. I find myself very often digging down to see how many sales (and how recently) are actually close to the stated FMV.
Sometimes it is in the coding. Pretty much all these guys are using the same eBay program. What happens is books or marked right in the titles (for example a variant) causes prices to spike up. Of course I haven’t looked at this sale and it could be a complete pump, bogus sale, or non-completed sale.
I rarely “believe” covrprice numbers. I go look at the data myself, primarily eBay sold items. Usually they report stuff a weak behind too.
I still think it’s good for sporting “trends” but always independently verify.
I use covrprice. I have emailed them a few times on price discrepancies I have seen. They are pretty good at fixing it. They pull from multiple sources and not just eBay sold.
Yeah looks like this is the ebay sale (Akira Homage) that got tagged to the Cover A instead. I dropped them a message on it. Hopefully it gets cleared up.
